The best thing you can do is to phone P&MM direct on 01908 352000 they have someone who deals with cashback claims and you can talk to a real human being!
I did as you suggested and phoned and yes I got a real (polite) human being! He fished out my email which had my invoice attached and was happy to use it to release the cashback so my cheque is in the post:j
He also said they would look at changing the T&Cs to clarify which receipt is required.

I also got an email confirming all this.

I got my Laptop from Laptops Direct and when doing the cashback I wasn't sure what invoice/packing note they wanted. So I sent both - the one in the package and the emailed one to be on the safeside. Got the cashback a couple of weeks ago.

I posted a message asking if anyone could help me on this subject, but forgot to click on the subscribe link and now can't find my message :o

However, my complaint is a little different to everyone elses in that I have been trying for a couple of days to fill in the online form but the link to 'verify details and register' is dead.

Can anyone help me with this problem, is there another way to go about getting the cahback?

    Thanks.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Consultant,

Toshiba have been very strict with their adherance to their T's and C's so it might be necessary to go straight to the chief executive or involve the press. I know there is someone who works for the Daily Mail financial section who tackles consumer problems and she might be worth contacting.

On another note, Amazon refunded my credit card with the £50 asd promised. Hats off to Amazon, they had no obligation whatsover to do a thing in this situation, but they went above and beyond. That is real customer service, something that Toshiba should take note of. All Toshiba have done is to ensure that I won't be purchasing another of their products in the future.

Thanks for this. You're right about Amazon, their customer service is second to none, or so I have always found. I'm another who won't be buying from Toshiba again unless I get the cashback!

You talk like "ZOMG THIS CASHBACK IZ MINE I EARNED ITZ" (God given right) however the company didnt have to offer cashback, the company can set their own terms for cashback and if you dont follow them you don't get the cashback. Cashback is a bonus not a right!
Even if you are technically right, [which I don't think you really are], in the customers mind this does not compute as cashback but as a price reduction. The customer reasonably expects cashback as part of the overall deal, not a lottery ticket for a £100 prize. The customer will see a product for sale at say £800 with £100 cashback and compute the value as £700 and decide to purchase accordingly. If the cashback were instead a lottery, even with a 50% chance of winning £100, everyone would calculate the value as £800 and make their buying decision on that basis.

So hats off to Toshiba, I won't take their cashback into account in making my purchasing decision, because their cashback is a lottery rather than something I can factor into my expectations. Simply put, Toshiba have failed to meet reasonable customer expectations. And they have made themselves look shabby and deceitful in the process. It is something I shall remember.
