Another faulty one here....So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable Christopher Reeve (1953-2004)0

Not too fussed if I've got a faulty Turbo Tool or not. They're offering free replacements.
I was a bit confused at first with the TurboTool as on it it says "Keep away from hair" and on the box it says "great for pet hair". Of course what it means is keep the TurboTool away from your own hair!
Performance wise the upright is excellent. Bit plasticy perhaps and doesn't feel like it'll last the fifteen years my last one did but overall very pleased.0 -
Oddly enough I used the turbo tool for the first time this morning on the stairs and it seemed to work perfectly. However, it is one of the so-called defective ones so I've contacted Vax via their website - they have an online re-call service - for a free replacement. Thanks to cockler for pointing out the potential problem.
The upright's performance, by the way, is truly excellent but it does make me wonder how other manufacturers can get away with producing machines which vacuum so little dirt, dust and pet hair from our (relatively) expensive carpets. Falkirk Bairn0 -

Just gave them a call about the turbo tool and the broken tool bracket. Tool bracket to be sent out within 24hrs - free of charge as still under warranty and the replacement turbo tool to be sent out too. They said they will send a pre-paid envelope to return the faulty turbo tool to them.

*sigh* My cylinder Vax seems to have died this morning. My wife thinks it overheated but surely it shouldn't just die?
Anyway, I'll have to call Vax CS tomorrow followed, I expect, by a call to empire stores.0 -

Same thing happened to mine (the little vax) It's definately an overheating issue as left mine overnight and the next morning it worked perfectly.0
