Definitely on fc's wavelength then. :D

I think it's good that men are taking more care of themselves.

Good if you're sitting next to them on a hot train, but I wouldn't fancy them.

Prefer more rugged. Like my OH. Sitting just behind me. :)

    Define fairly defined colouring.

Um... trying to be vague.

Basically, naturally black eyelashes. So what's the point in mascara? Plus deep set eyes (ignoring massive bags from lack of sleep..) - no-one can see my eyes anyway. :p

Not a scoobie! Was planning on making an appointment with my doctor next week for advice.

I would normally just go to the friendly WW class but money being as it is, I can't really afford it (or justify it!), plus they seem to have stopped the one I used to go to which was during the day instead of in the evening....evening is no good for me as the boys don't do so well at group things and waiting around and no begger will have them on such a regular basis.

You were size 24? Fu cking hell. I went up to a size 18 before I learned starvation is actually my friend.

Unfortunately, that is my problem....I do starvation all too well and end up even worse than before. It's what I meant by unhealthy relationship with food, it was being suggested I may have/had some sort of eating disorder, I tend to veer between almost bullimic to just starving myself and messing up the metabolism in between.

    I'm no longer a size 10 by the way...but I haven't got quite upto the 24 either.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

LOL, me too. I could never get anything right, even Precriptives. But I'm only the second palest Laura Mercier....:)

Thank goodness for new foundation colours. 20 years ago if you weren't "English rose" complexion you were stuffed. That's why I like Estee Lauder. I'm not dark (particularly due to my inability to go out in the sun), but I do have a sallow tint to my skin. English Rose foundation used to make me look like I'd covered my face in pale pink crayon .
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Well I probably am one of the more metrosexual males out there, well if you class having your nails done and eyebrows waxed as metrosexual I'm guilty.

    I believe you.

Actually you do turn me on.

Isn't it a bit too soon for your welcome back thread? :rotfl:
  • I guess she means that she doesn't need eyebrow pencil or mascara. Strictly speaking I don't either (and I don't use pencil on my eyebrows) but I do use eyeliner and mascara anyway.

A really good budget (well it still costs £10 odd) foundation is Age Renew by Max Factor. I will never bother buying expensive foundation again. I found out about it by looking at reviews on makeupalley.com.

I have a feeling that this thread really ought to be moved to Discussion Time. I'm not sure it strictly ought to be in House Prices, the Economy and the Recession much as I'm happy to discuss lipgloss etc until the cows come home.

I wear very little make up - usually just face powder, blusher and mascara. At weekends or for going out I put tinted moisturiser on underneath.

My hair gets cut every couple of months, I don't dye it (natural blonde) but I wash and straighten it every day (well - it's in a bob so I use the straighteners to shape it as opposed to it being poker straight).

I pluck my eyebrows but don't really bother with other hair removal. My legs are so unhairy they don't really need shaving.

I do buy a lot of products - moisturisers etc. but they are all cheap, I don't think there is anything I buy that costs more than a fiver.

I was going to link to the long-running Health & Beauty thread about cheap but good make-up geri, but I can't find it. Seems apt to point posters here to it as was full of excellent but inexpensive, tried and tested products.

Agree totally with you - there are lots of really fantastic products available and it's not necessary to spend a fortune to keep looking good.
