Been to see a nextstep advisor today, to find out what I should do - she really didn't know, but booked me in for a 2nd appointment next week to go over my CV. But she did say "there's no point you doing a degree, stick to project management, move away from here and get a job". So that's helped sort that one out.
I've not got round to doing my packing and putting stuff into storage yet ... hard to be motivated in an unheated room. I've also got to do my tax return ... hard to be motivated. Also, lost most internet connectivity for 8 days from 4th-11th, it was taking me 40 minutes sometimes to load a single page ... so just sat and watched telly and cooked most of the time to be honest
I have to phone London at some point, to see if the offer's still there or not ... putting it off really... but it has to be done ... soon.
So, current status is: if I am coming to London, it is most likely to be on Tuesday 26th/Wed 27th as there are other things happening this end that I feel I should hang around for. Oh, but I might break the journey with a short break on the Dorset coast for a look around
All sounds good...
I am in Finland weekend 30th Jan but if you need anything/dump car or whatever feel free to call.
Are you psychic? I was meant to be doing a road trip 23 of Jan to Dorset. Visiting people and, maybe, checking out Chesil Beach but the dam snow and things look like it may be delayed until early feb. I can't see us fitting it in and I can't face driving and mooching about in ice and snow0 -
Have you had it diagnosed? Maybe it's a slipped disc / sciatica and treatable.
Yes, it was diagnosed nearly 10 years ago now after many years of problems (will be 10 years in May)....I have also had all the above too!
Unfortunately, overuse of the joints when I was dancing is the cause (along with hypermobility and some family history, my sister also has arthritis in her hands), hand/wrist arthritis was diagnosed in my very early 20's, spinal the month after my 30th, hips, knees, feet and ankles a few years after that.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
The trains aren't all that bad. They've been practising.0

Sorry to hear that Sue..... your problems seem never ending.0 -
Ah, I don't let it worry me...old warhorse here!
It's only really become a bigger problem in the last year or so, before that, it was manageable and didn't really have a large impact on my life...and it's never stopped me doing stuff.
Not at the stage of being disabled because of it yet and I don't intend to admit to that for another good few years!
As they say, you make your choices in life...mine was to do lots of dance training whilst my bones were still growing and fragile and also being extremely hypermobile. I was the one who pushed my body further than it should have gone, so I have to put up with the consequences. We made it! Yippee! If you had that yesterday, we'll have it today. I thought things felt different when I woke up about half an hour ago.:D0 -
Lucky people. Where I am my road is closed by the police as I live at the top of the hill and its full of abandoned vehicles - including large commercial ones. I did try taking a bus down hill towards work yesterday (£1.70 seemed a fair exchange not to break my ankle/leg/wrist) and while the bus did get down the hill, it did it sideways.
Roll on the thaw. Its still freezing here today (literally). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Didn't think you were that far away?
As the crow flies, I'm not that far away, but given the cost/time of public transport into London, and the fact I have to be at the school by noon 3 days a week to pick up DS, trips into London are still a rare luxury.
My OH can't understand why on earth I would envy him his daily commute into Zone 1 - I appreciate that on a daily basis, it must be hellish, but I do miss the buzz of the city, and the limitless possibilities it affords.
Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner (sung loud)...0
