Aww, I really feel for you CarolT, having under the weather youngsters whilst you yourself is feeling carp is horrendous..and the poor thing having to miss all the fun stuff at the end of term.
Think my outpouring did some good last night, it made me realise I am being very selfish and not really thinking of the boys and their christmas, so I am just having a couple of minutes sit down in between reorganising my front room (just lugged a huge box of art stuff up the stairs, took me ten minutes to get it up there, one step at a time, back is killing me!) so that we can somehow fit the tree and the art desk in together...that way youngest son doesn't get too stressed and he can still draw.
Re swine flu, youngest managed to have his jab a week after coming out of hospital thank goodness, an admission for swine flu would just about finish me off for this year!
We've had snow this morning, loads forecast for later this afternoon and into tomorrow but the main problem was ice this morning, eldest got on his bike to go to school, got out on the road and promptly came off banging his already dodgy elbow (he put the same one out of joint at physio on Tuesday). He is ok though and has gone off to school with the advice that if it gives him too many problems to go to the medical room but so far (touch wood) no call from the school.
Youngest would prefer if school tomorrow was snowed off, he is already in a right tizz about the non school uniform and the easy non structured fun day and now he is going into complete meltdown because there is going to be a party too, eldest would love it to be snowed off as then he would be able to lay in and middle one doesn't say either way....me, I would prefer there to be no school if the roads are bad as I have to come from a more rural area for the school run and the roads can be horrendous. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

If it does snow heavily so school is cancelled, I'll feel better knowing that some people are really pleased about it.0 -
Space for tree made!
Now to persuade eldest to go into the loft and get the tree and calm down youngest in the inevitable stress out he is going to have as I have moved his art desk along the wall (he positions it precisely) and his art provisions upstairs.
But we will have a Christmas tree up this year.We made it! Pretty naff time here at the mo. I have no brothers or sisters so my wifes sister is like my own.
Bomb shell dropped last Friday evening. Husband has walked out after 30 years of marriage for a younger model. The family is very upset. Barely any warning but my niece was suspicious and when she confronted him he lied.
So very unlike him. We were all close, holidays, New Year spent together. He is being a total !!!!, no communication at all. Found this morning that he had changed the password on his business account so we don`t know what`s happening regarding mortgage or the like.
We can`t get there for Christmas as my wife is working. Folk still need looking after even then. On the plus side we do have a nice bit of time off right after Christmas so we will be able to get there. Trying to sort out a solicitor right now.0 -
Oh, how awful for her...and after so long together.
Do you think it could be like a midlife crisis sort of thing possibly? Especially with it being out of character for him.We made it! Had a few friends m and f divorce in the last couple of years or so.
My advice? Be very aggressive in the first instance when it comes to finances. Very. If one party spends the money then it just seems to be discounted when the settlement is arrived at. One friend is down many hundreds of thousands as the family home (which (s)he paid for) was sold and the other party took the money and spent it.
Seriously, there is no suich thing as an amicable divorce.0 -
Its astounding how the whole world comes to a head over a time of year that, ultimately, fewer and fewer believe in, and yet the social pressure just keeps getting worse and worse....like a abcess that won't come to a head.
People act crazy this time of year. Maybe that is why people buy so much loo roll and milk for one or two days supermarket closure? Because you never know what might happen?0 -

Only thing i can think of Sue, however I would be surprised if my sis-in-law would have him back. The trust is gone. Niece refuses to talk to him. She is so angry. The 18 year old boy is taking it hard. Can`t say what he wrote on facebook but thankfully now deleted. Both he and his brother work for their father.0 -
