couple of agencies I used who covered most of the posts, now there are literally dozens of agencies splitting up the work, many of whom I hadn't heard of, or didn't know they recruited in my area..
Funnily enough I have the same ''problem'' with looking for property. Not everything is on RM or PL...particularly, as Davesnave has said, the sort of thing he was and I am looking for.0 -
Have to say, I was surprised when I started googling quite how much there was out there, workwise. I hadn't really been making any proper effort to look because I just automatically assumed recession = less jobs = won't find anything suitable.
I could do with a list of all these agencies, I fancy a jobs browse now :AWe cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

Do you wear a big mac?0 -
Weird isn't it. Where I work now generally only advertise on their own website, but its not the type of work you leave school thinking 'i wanna work there!' :rotfl:

Try googling your preferred work area or try the big generic online agencies by postcode for a different view of what else is around locally. Admittedly, 99 out of 100 of those jobs are either mindblowingly tedious or you're totally unqualified for or usually both. But you only need one.0 -

I look in farming ads, the published ones, but on line, and the farm agencies. Also a lot never gets advertised...people often don't want neighbours to know know they are selling till its done..so you have o be registered with the smaller ag agencies.
Some interesting things happening, the thing we would have made an ofer on in march is already under offer...which is ok, which might be a sign we were feeling desperate just to buy? In anycase, its a good value buy for whoever. Something elsewe liked went UO and has fallen through, and is readvertised at a higher price, dh, who liked it more than me just laughed when I told him. Had another planning enquiry (and another fee to ask) which was pretty negative, which is a shame, its a nice enough plot its a nice enough location, been for sale for years now....and very, very reduced from initial price. A neighbour is selling, and offered to sell to us...not very much land though, and ...too much house really , which would be ok if we loved it, I fancy running a B &B but, we don't anything like love it, its very, sensible, proper, xpected. Things a bit..diverted this week, because other stuff in life going on, then I have consultants appts in March...it just gets so that there is only so much time one can devote to this stuff (and stay sane), you know?0 -
Really can't imagine that. :cool:0

To further answer Carolt's question, I'm seriously considering paying a search agent.0
