On the contrary. I'd like to think I have one of the most important jobs you can have. I am currently delivering hot-tubs. You'll find me most days tearing up and down the main carriageways south of london. Careful though I don't take kindly to middle aged girl racers.

    ROFL.

on the note of hot tubs, somewhere we were staying once had one and I told DH I wasn't interested in the nasty sharing of bathwater with random people, and wouldn't get in..till he lured be in with a bottle of wine......anyway, after that I was in there every night...it was just lovely.

I have to say though, this one has an amazing view...I'm not sure I'd like it so much int he back of a suburban garden hiding between a laurel, a fence and a bit of trellis for a modicum of privacy....

My boots came. I adore them, they are totally, absolutely gorgeous. They are wonderfully slouchy and they end just half way up my knee.

I wore them to Sunday dinner to She Who Must Be Kowtowed To's (AKA my mother). She looked me up and down and said "nice boots dear, I take it you got them cheap somewhere". Mistress of the backhanded bliddy compliment my auld dear.

I am not deterred, I love them

I have to say though, this one has an amazing view...
Talking of hot tubs with an amazing view, there is one in the garden of a pub that has a panoramic view over a beach and bay. One night I was in the pub, standing at the window looking at the view and a group of stag night lads turned up. The hot tub was directly under the window and about 8' lower down ... first one lad leapt in, then he shouted at his mate to join him ... he promptly stripped off and jumped in ... then they were waving at me through the window to leap in and join them ... I didn't think it was really my thing ... :)

That is the only time I've ever seen a hot tub ... I doubt they all come with naked young men or I might make room for one in my own garden.

Excellent - so pleased about the boots!

Knew they looked nice. (On other people.)

Actually, I wasn't looking for a dress; just trying to inspire sjay with some cheaper frocks. Though I did long for lots of stuff once I'd started browsing... :(

I did buy some boots though this weekend - nice knee-high boots, wedges. I feel smart in them. Bought on Valentine's Day morning from somewhere called something like 'Ultra-cheap Shoe Emporium', just round the corner from my nana-in-law (or whatever one calls one's OH's grandma), when I'd nipped out surreptitiously to 'buy a paper'. :D

By the way, I don't think I've mentioned how I got to spend my Valentine's day evening. Our car broke down on the M1 driving back from ooop North, and we romantically dined on rather soggy cheese and tomato sandwiches (= wet, salty cardboard) at Toddington services whilst waiting for 2 hours for the nice RAC man to come and sort out the car. With 3 very tired and fractious kids. :)

I challenge anyone to have had a better Valentine's day!

No wonder pay rises are thin on the ground then. :p

I have just about reached the stage where I am pretty much ready to demand a pay rise. I earn a pitiful amount in my day job.

The thing is you need a credible threat. Either you pay me more money or........

And you need to be prepared to follow through.

I will have to look for a job I have no intention of taking. It is all a bit silly really

You need to broaden your horizons. The man of your dreams could have been nakkid in that hot tub and you just....

    ......walked away.
