  • hi everyone, well the case has finally come to a close and I received this message from ebay:

"We've asked the buyer to return the item to you, and eBay will refund
the buyer the cost of the item plus original shipping. In the future, if
eBay finds in favor of the buyer in a case, eBay may seek reimbursement
from your PayPal account or other reimbursement payment method on file".

Does this mean that ebay will now try to recoup the money from me? Or are they taking the hit themselves? Up to now there's nothing been taken from my paypal account or bank account? I also have not received the items back?

anyone with any experience of this please?

    thanks in advance (again!)
  • the buyer will have to return it tracked and the money will be refunded from your account upon the receipt of the item on your end, I believe.

No advice unfortunately, but just wanted to say that I can't believe that Ebay have found in her favour!! Surely they must see that she's had the items for ages, and as you say will probably have been using them? Have you phoned and spoken to someone at Ebay? My cousin had a problem several months ago and was e mailing back and forth, he said it was resolved more swiftly when he spoke to someone in person. Good luck, I hope it works out for you. x
  • !!!!!!!!! - sorry to hear about the goings on with your nightmare buyer. To me, that message reads like ebay are going to refund her using their money (ie not take the money from you) but they're warning you that in the case of future disputes they may take the money from your paypal account. Reading between the lines it sounds like ebay have decided she's a PITA too but they can't "professionally" say this. Sounds good all round, she'll have to fork out £30 for return postage and ebay will refund her :)

NB - I haven't had personal experience of this situation, my reply is based on how I've interpreted ebay's email.

edit - that's really weird, I can't type your username and it's put in a load of !!!!!!'s instead?!?
