You would just go into details of the paypal transaction at the bottom there is a link to refund then you can specify the amount. So if she did launch a dispute the £10 would appear as already refunded. She will still be able to leave what ever feedback she wants though. If she does leave a neg just respond calmly.

This really makes me chuckle and I agree is very tempting!:rotfl:

She is obviously trying it on and if you ask her to send it back (at her expense) you will issue a refund as long as it is in the same condition it was when you sent it. You run the risk of her damaging it on purpose and then you would have to refund her and be unable to sell it on.
Do you have her ebay name so that everyone can add to their block list?

Sorry, I don't think I've been any help whatsoever!

  • Thanks for all the clear advice on here - we've just run into problems with a buyer in Australia who bought an item from us; it's arrived and now he's saying there's a problem with it and he wants to be refunded - including his return postage costs. The whole story is long and too too boring to go into in detail here, but at least I know now that what I need to do is tell him to send me photos to prove that what he says is wrong actually is as he's saying, then stick to my guns about making him return it to me at his cost (which is the position I've already taken over this, and is what's got him hopping up and down) before I give a refund of the amount he paid. He wants me to pay his return postage costs.

Now and again you do get problems with things that you've sold, and until now I've been more than happy to refund the buyers full costs - seems fair to me, and no big deal from my point of view. However, this guy is complaining about something that was clearly visible in the photo, that I think is part of the design and original branding, and he bid on over the period of a week without asking a single question about. Added to this he tells me he is a 'collector with 30 years experience' - who, I think, should then have asked questions before he bought about anything he wasn't sure about.

If I need to take a neg over it, I will (we're 100% at the mo) ebay is just an occasional hobby for us, so it's nothing I'm going to lose sleep over. It will be more than 6 months before we might sell anything else, and we currently don't have any star ratings, so ther's not going to be any damage there. Add to that he's been offered a refund, politley and immediately, there's not much for him to keep moaning about.
Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!
  • Hi all, this silly saga is still going on i'm afraid! After angrily accepting my goodwill gesture of £10, she didn't launch an official dispute through which I could refund her money. Instead she has waited until this week to launch a dispute and demanded £20 instead of £10. I have politely told her where to go and instead suggested that she return the complete package back to me at her own cost for a refund, minus the original postage costsi paid. I have, however pointed out to her that should the items be returned in a lesser state than they were when they left me, i will take her to the small claims court.
Today she has sent the dispute for ebay to decide on.

so what happens now? will paypal simply refund all her money? will the fact that she has already accepted my offer of £10 a few weeks ago be taken into consideration?

I am so angry with this woman now, she really is just trying it on. She's had the pram set for weeks and weeks and will prbably have been using it all this time!

    aarggh!

any help from you kind people would be appreciated!

    thanks in advance

no, I asked her to launch the dispute officially, so I would ahve some sort of proof of our agreement - thought this would be the best way to refund her. She didn't get back to me until this week...
  • Should I just send her the £10 now?
