hi there i have had this happen 2 or three times with a pram once a buyer brought on off me took it on holiday then contacted me when they came home to say it was damaged.have you asked her what parts of the pram are torn and dirty.were they parts of the pram that were clearly visable on the listing pictures.you are doing the right thing by calling her/his bluff and can not beleive that you have provided 3 different email addresses and they are saying they are not working, yes i do its because they have no photo evidence as there is nothing wrong with the item.personaly i would not refund any money as they are obveiously trying it on with you here.i would send them another email saying that you have still not received there pictures and that you can not understand why it dose not seem to be working from her end as you have received emails from other people toady.and that you have lots if photos from the listing showing the pram to be in good condition, also ask them if the packaging was damaged from the courier (i did this to the holiday pram lady) who said there was no damage but it had been disposed of (end of game as you need packaging to file a claim)i would also not close your ebay and paypal account on behalf of this scammer why should you and even if you did if they put in a paypal claim and won your account would be in the red and if you were to open another account there is always a chance they will catch up with you.try not to get too stressed im sure that they will give up when they realise that you are onto there scam0

Hi
This person is definately trying it on. I sell a lot on ebay and do get tired of the antics from the "few"-most have been really great.
My first tactic is always
a. ask for photos
b. if they say email not working-I reply they are and I have proof
c. refusal to send photos leads to me to send a polite email stating that without photos refunds for damaged items cannot be obtained by me from courier. I always state that I have timed photos to show what the item looked like when they left me.
Most drop out at any of the above stages, if not then the next stage is me asking them to return the item via a tracked method as per ebay/paypal rules for a full refund. I never hear from any of them again.
I did have one give me a negative feedback but I got it remoived by ebay because it was deformation of my character-eg they said I never sent the item!!!!!!
Of course -always, always-at the hint of any trouble etc as soon as its resolved always go to the blocked bidder page and input their details-life is far too short for you to be spending your time woryying over or being hassled by these people.
I can understand in your position that you have little time and don't sell much on ebay.
You have offered a partial refund. Its up to them now. If they refuse then ask for the item to be returned for a full refund or ask again for the photos.
Sorry its not much help but with scammers its often a game of "chicken"-sadly Im afraid to say-to see which one folds first.
There are a "few" tiny minded, very "school playground" in their bullying, lying tactics and they only try this on in cyberspace, I doubt very much if many of them would ever have the nerve to be so ..........(there are many words I could use to describe them but I was brought up better than that).
Sorry to be so blunt but either hold your ground or give in-its ultimately up to you. but they are definately trying it on.
Good luck with it all-we've all ,and sadly will again,- been there.:A NI FEIDIR ACH LE DIA BREITHIUNAS A DHEANAMH ORM0 -
What a horrible buyer. I would not be giving her any money back either. Good advice above. Don't let her get to you, wait for the ?photos? and perhaps have no other contact with her till they arrive - then compare them to your photos - she probably won't have a leg to stand on.0

Personally, I wouldn't offer her anything..! If you are confident that it was in good condition when it left you, then you should stand your ground.
If it is torn/dirty, then why would she want to keep it? If it had arrived with me like that, I would've asked to return (immediately - not 10 days later!!) for a full refund.
There are a lot of dishonest ebayers out there - but there are a lot of honest and lovely ones too!!
Just tell her to return it (at her cost) and see what she says to that!!Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
oh, one final question, I have photographs of the pram and car seat here myself, from when I was listing - could I use this in my favour in the event of a paypal claim?
you could use the photos to prove the item was as described if this person file a SNAD (significantly not as described).
Their refusal to send the photos is proof that they are trying it on, unfortunately this is the risk of using ebay at the moment, it's weighted very much in favour or the buyer. All you can do is stick you your guns, tell them that they are welcome to return the item for a full refund (return it at their own expense obviously), and don't offer a part refund.
Stay calm and polite in your communication and stick to your guns, the worst they can do is leave you negative feedback, you can leave a clam truthful response and then move on, comments left in cyberspace mean nothing and can't hurt you.0 -
I have had buyers like this a few times. If you don't send something tracked they say it hasn't arrived result -full refund and they already have the item. Then you get the ones that receive and sign for the item and then they try and get some money back from you in one way or another. Fortunately they are in the minority and most buyers are very honest but like everwhere else you get the odd few. I always let paypal sort it out and suggest they raise a claim. You know if they have done that before as they do it so quickly ( hint here) Paypal make them send it back tracked and she wil have to buy a pram from somewhere else. Basically she wants the item for free or as cheap as possible and is trying it on.
THis is one of the times I wish sellers could leave a negative to warn other buyers.
Paypal once said they could see how many claims a customer had and how often they do this but that won't help.
She will play you along for time and try to get a refund without going to a claim. DO NOT give in and give any money back until you have your pram back ( and signed for by you ). Think of all the other sellers she will then try it on with.0 -
I would take RockyRose's advice re photos and advice on getting them to return the item. Also, check her feedback and maybe email a few people she has bought off of in the past to see if she tried it on with them too!0

Hi, firstly I'd like to say a BIG BIG thankyou to everyone who has replied to this thread - you have all been really really helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to respond with your advice.
So an update to the story:
The buyer did eventually send through photos. There was one of a leaf stuck to one of the wheels (?!), not sure where the leaf came from unless she's used the pram during the ten days she's had it. The other two were of superficial wear and tear marks that were clearly visible on my original listing photos. (When I say clearly, I mean REALLY clearly as I make it my business to have super clear shots as I personally, when buying, prefer to be able to see everything in detail).
So I emailed the buyer back and explained my stance on the matter -namely that i would still only offer a £10 goodwill gesture due to the pram and car seat being in very good used condition, less than 12 months old etc. then invited her to launch a paypal dispute, whilst pointing out that she would have to return the items to me at her own expense. (I did also mention here the fact that she paid £20 postage and it actually cost me nearer £30 to package and send).
I have, throughout, remained calm and friendly with this person and continue to do so but the response I received was less than nice! She has told me in capital letters, which in my book equates to shouting, that I just send her £10 back but she is not happy. All of this written in the same broken jumbled up English that the rest of her correspondence has been in, which I guess is not really relevant, but it did make me chuckle!
Anyway, my final question here is what is the process that has to be gone through in order for me to give her this £10? I don't want to send this person money and she still either neg me, or worse still, THEN launch a paypal dispute.
Could any of you kind people tell me what I need to do next please?
thanks in advance again, you have all been so helpful!
