'typically English' snack for 25 children? Help!

Hi all - I really need some inspiration please.
We live in France and at my 4 year olds school the parents supply the mid-morning snack on a rota basis. This is great, each month we are basically told what to provide for all 25 kids.
Anyhow for December the teacher has decided I can take in something 'typically English, some sort of cake, custard or surprise'!!!???
Normally I would have done a couple of big jellies as this is cheap and fun and 'typically English' but I only have one packet of jelly left.
I have got half a tin of Bird's custard if that gives anyone any inspiration!?
So what can I make for 25 kids that is fairly easy, typically English oh and cheap!!
:T Thanks gang

Scones and jam?
Make them smaller than usual (as it's for 4 year olds) .
It's only a game

Thanks ladies .... am a bit scared of flapjacks <weirdo icon needed> but I reckon I could manage scones, not as easy as jelly but worth a go :rotfl:
Thank you MrsBertolossi you're a star :T

does anyone think mini-muffins are English enough? I can do those with my eyes closed

What about little mini trifles each. I make these for friends childrens parties. They prove really popular. Good luck x0

Mince pies seem the obvious answer in December.0

Victoria Sandwich. Basic sponge with jam and butter cream (I prefer it like that to fresh cream and I'm thinking it might be easier to make in advance that way)2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback

Wow! Thanks bunnytoo - genius idea!
What do you put the mini-trifles in? Do you think one packet of jelly would be enough for 25?
I'm not sure if they might be a bit too much work for a school snack though and I don't want the teacher to expect that level of snack every month
I'm certainly going to do that for next kids party though - fantastic!

My dd spent some of her gap year in Sweden and did 'afternoon tea' for her host family's primary school class. This included scones and sponge cake I think."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Blimey - all these typically English things - I couldn't think of a single one when the teacher put me on the spot this morning!! Thank you!
thriftlady - I think mince pies are a great idea, my daughter loves them. Can I make my own mince filling? never made them before
motherhen - great idea but this is a no-no I'm afraid - my cakes are always a disaster. I blame the French flour but my sponges NEVER rise
cazza - fantastic idea - really cheap and easy too .... thank youBon App's Scraps!
