Hi, can I please join you?
My target for 2010 will be to pay off £50k which I know is a long way off your £20k but I'm working to pay off all my debts and mortgage by the time I'm 30. I think focusing on this first year will really help me.

IT really angers me as if they had looked at our banking history they would have seen that in November we paid £1,000 and cleared our joint account overdraft, in December we paid £1,700 and cleared my sole account overdraft, so they can see we are actively reducing our overdrafts. We just want to do it in our own timescale so we can budget properly! Sods.
So no more payments from me for a while
Did you contact them before or after to let them know that repaying was your main priority? Banks can be a bit more lenient if you contact them. It won't cost you to give them a call and see if they can re-instate it and perhaps reduce it in steps over a certain period. Then once it's clear, close the account and go somewhere elsePay off £20k (well £12.5k) by December '10 £12,500/£3398.59 = 27%
