Don't feel bad Gailey...DEc/jan are bad months for everyone.
There are positives in that post as no council tax and no nursey fees will be a fair amount of money at a guess.
Good luck finding a p/t job.0 -
Ok, so last night after a few glasses of wine ( a Christmas pressie - no non essential spending in the juicy household!) me and the hubby decided we really want to get our flat on the market so we can buy and house and get our family started. We decided we really want to clear our debt as fast as possible.....
....So, in my drunkenness (:o) I made a £100 overpayment to my credit card and a £100 overpayment to my CC. Great you may think except I have already made my overpayments this month and now I am well and truly skint until payday in 3 weeks time
Luckily the cupboards are full, the car is full of petrol and all the bills have been paid so we should be just about able to survive without resorting to the credit card!
Sig updated. I will be glad eventually!0 -
I agree - if you can survive January, you can survive anything!!
£10 paid to the debt pot for me today.......have a good weekend, everyone!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

If you manage it ok, then it means you have a overbudgeted a bit, so you should be able to pay bigger overpaments in the future, and clear the card quicker
On the other hand, if you do have to spend on the credit card to get through this month, it means you've got your budget spot on, and should be proud of yourself
Either way, you win:D

Nope, not at the moment ( I'd saved well for Christmas and DW did plenty of overtime in November), but I will do sooner or later, we all do sometimes, it's just life's ups and downs isn't it? Go with the flow and you'll get through fine, if you feel stressed, just remind yourself it's a long term thing, and it's going to get better, as you're in control of it.Pay off £20k (well £12.5k) by December '10 £12,500/£3398.59 = 27%

Don't worry - i'm sure everyone feels like that!
Looked in the account today and realised that I forgot to cancel phone insurance (and some stupid gadget insurance) which had 30 days free.
I have accidently cost us £24 but not paying enough attention. Am very annoyed with myself and no-one else to blame!!
Never mind - I'm sure I will earn that money back somewhere....Paying down the mortgage:

Currently: £224,499
Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
Paid £1,500
