It felt strangely exciting to find 3 in the same box - I can't remember the last time I saw one.

OK, maybe I need more excitement in my life if that is what pushes my buttons!!

  • I was just wondering about double yoked eggs yesterday. I haven't seen them for ages. A man at the market used to sell them as guaranted to have six double yolks in every box.

I remember years ago my mother got a tray of 6 eggs each one was a double yolker, however she'd buy them from the healthfood shop that i assume must have sold fresh free range eggs so i dont know whether this has anything to do with that? Any other time it wasnt uncommon for her to have 2 or 3 in a box!

I've only sinceleaving home have had maybe 1 or 2 maybe 3 at the most.:D

Haven't seen a double yolker in ages!!!! My Gran used to get eggs from a man from up the hill near her house and a good 80% of them were double yolkers......lovely on a Sunday morning boiled with soldiers!!!!

I bet your cake and ice cream will be extra rich with all those egg yolks in!
Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

the cake is fine(obviously for scientific purposes I had to try a slice!) It kind of has a swiss roll texture to it.

The eggs are the Smart Price ones and are the usual mixture of misfit sizes. I know I used all the bigger ones in the box first so maybe they came from the same source.
