I couldn't see why it was moneysaving, but then, at the time I like others on this thread didn't think >1 yolk in an egg was fact
Just to say there was nothing moneysaving about my box of eggs as they were £2.10 for six but I don't care and... it looks like there is another huge egg left in the box0 -
There's a fruit shop locally that advertises their eggs as double yolkers as they actually always are.You buy a box of ten and you always get ten double yolked eggs.I have had them for years. They still sell them £1.15 for ten large double yolked eggs.0

That is brilliant! The absolute cheapest price in my area for free range eggs is 99p per half dozen and they aren't large! I don't know of anywhere that sells double yolkers but today in Tesco I got some eggs marked very large but they were £1.65 for 6:eek:Jane

I've usually been able to tell double-yolkers from singles by the shape of the shell. It's slightly longer and has a 'thicker belt' around it's equator. Never fails to be a double-yolker in my experience!0

I was always told by my Dad who used to keep hens as did his Dad, that Double Yolkers were usually from pullets (young hens just starting to lay) and their egg making bits didn't always work just right at first which is why we get them IYKWIM.
