At work again today so another nsd, 6 so far this month.

I'm a bit bored today tbh, not much happening and nothing I can plan iykwim. I keep checking the bank because I'm hoping I can pay something off the m2 balance this month but I think I'd better wait until after the weekend because the car is going in for its mot and service. I have a feeling it won't pass because an advisory note had been given out last year on a tyre and brakes so after having it running for another year, both items may have to be replaced now. I wonder how much that will cost?

Checked my pond out in the afternoon and now only have 2 fish left, it looks like I've fed the local heron again in the past few weeks. I'm giving up on the pond now because everytime I put fish in, they disappear so what is the point! I do have tadpoles though, 2 frogs and lots of snails still.

As soon as I read about your heron, bells started ringing in my head, I've heard a comedian talk about dealing with a heron, oh oh oh, Bill Bailey on QI - man I watch too much Dave! - he tried several things to protect his pond and I can't remember any of them,

You could try shiney things tied above the pond to scare him away...

My aunt has a flag up to scare the heron away and also a fake heron by the pond too - she says it sort of works but anything's worth a try :)

Thanks, I was advised by the fish people to get a plastic heron but the only thing is you have to keep moving it around every day otherwise the real one gets wise to the fact that its plastic!!!!!!!!!

I can just see myself out every night with a torch, moving a plastic heron around the pond. My kids already laugh their heads off at me, I can't imagine what my neighbour would say! And knowing my luck anyway, I'd probably end up in the pond myself. :rotfl:

This morning I have spoken with my mortgage provider and got the up to date balances for my mortgages.

    They currently stand at:
    m1 - £60,143.01
    m2 - £16,688.19

So normal mortgage payments this month will result in balances of:
    m1 minus £230 + £34.58 interest = £59,947.59
    m2 minus £80 + £20.72 interest = £16,628.91

I have just made my first official overpayment to m2 of £18.91!

(I did also make an op to m1 of £7.59 because I couldn't resist it)

    I am so chuffed :)

    New week again.

Car mot and service came in at £225 which was under budget at £240 so I was happy with that. Used the £15 left over to buy a necklace each for my daughter's birthdays for the end of the month as an additional gift.

Haven't done the shopping yet for this week, going to do that tonight but hopefully shouldn't spend too much. Still have £97 left for the month though in grocery budget. Will be needing this though as having two birthday parties combined at the weekend.

Had to buy a new latch for my gate this weekend so that will have to come out of bills money. I wish people would shut gates after them properly!

Should hopefully be overpaying around £300 to m2 at the end of the month, fingers crossed.

Oooooooooo no georgie, would frighten kids if I ended up on there!

As it was, last fri morning I suddenly woke up and remembered I hadn't closed the zip up door to my plastic greenhouse and it was really windy so had to get up to go and close it otherwise I wouldn't have got back to sleep, ykwim!!! So this was at abt 3 am, pitch dark, windy, me scuttling about in my nightie and dressing gown in a perfectly safe garden but it didn't half give me the heeby geebies at the time! It's funny how a grown up women can have sudden thoughts of bogey men, vampires etc and whatever :rotfl:

So, no I don't think I will be bothering with a plastic heron. :o

On a different note, I did the shopping last night, spent £22 so £75 left of the grocery budget. Still waiting for the kids to decide on what food they want at the weekend though.

At work so another nsd, brought in home made twinks and sarnies to eat today and a whoopsie salmon fillet for tea which only cost £50p with new potatoes.

My tomato plants are doing well as is the cucumber, I have a couple of decent sized radishes too and my lettuce is coming along slowly. The spring onions aren't very good at all though and I have no idea where my sweet peas have gone. Oh dear.

Well, been and done a little shopping for the party things for sat so I have bought the cakes, biscuits, crisps, balloons, candles, sweeties so far. Plus the miniture bottles of bubbles for the 15 yr olds to play with :D. Spent about £15 just on that lot and still have the cake to get but I have to find suitable baby pictures for that yet. Both girls have decided to have a kiddies party aged max 5yrs so I have been asked to do food to match. Why for goodness sake, I don't know, I can't even remember what they eat at that age really!

I must remember to get my own bottle of something as well for when I have to stay in my room, comes to something when I get told to stay upstairs :rotfl:

Grocery budget now at £109/£150 so hopefully will only spend max £34 on the rest of the goodies. I plan to op the grocery saving this month to m2 next week if poss. Fingers crossed.
