Just to make me feel better, I have done my figures early but these will only be effective from pay day at the end of the month.
MFW No 16. M2 TARGET bal Dec 11 = £14,000.00
M2 start bal Oct 10 = £17.103.03
M2 current bal end Feb 11 = £16,867.53
O/P total (being saved in sav act) = £210 end Feb 11
Car Loan now 1170/5100 end Feb 11
Realised I made a mistake some time ago and the money I thought I could save as an op in the savs act actually doesn't exist because I'm using that payment to pay more off my car loan each month. No wonder I seemed to be o/d a little bit too much each month. Derr!
Back on track now anyway. 3 more months and car loan gone. Yay!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Hi,
I haven't been on for some time as haven't really got anything further to report.
I have made a few more changes this month as my income has now dropped by quite a bit so ....
1. have cancelled the Virgin package and only kept bb for school homework now. Down by £30.
2. have reduced my grocery budget to £150. Down by £60 for April. Hoping it will go lower in May.
3. have added £10 to petrol budget as it isn't lasting as long as it did now.
4. still trying to pay off as much as I can on car loan but this has dropped by £60 which means another month added unfortunately, but it will go.
Current balances stand at ......

Had a wonderful moment this morning when I looked at my bank balance. For the first time in many, many months I was in the black and it was a wonderful sight for a few minutes before I paid all the DDs and SO and it went back into the red again.
I now feel like I am getting closer to being able to do something much more positive iykwim. In two months time I should have finally paid off my car loan and I can start to pay my op to my m2 which is going to be a good feeling. I really want to see if I can achieve my target for December if possible.
Had my council tax bill for the year and water rates which I'm happy with. No increases on those. Gas and electric usage is ok at the moment so no problems with those.
I have some money left over from grocery this month and I have actually been bad as yesterday I bought myself 3 cds from Amazon which, tbh I didn't really need, and may go back.
My budget plastic greenhouse is up and slowly running. I'm trying my hand at growing veg this year and the seeds don't seem to be playing at the mo because they don't want to grow. Will persevere though, 7 radishes and counting :T
Best thing of all though, is the sun is shining!0 -

Morning all,
Well my virgin package ended at the weekend so now we just have the bb for the kids homework etc. I tried to tune my tv into the freeview and I've found that my arial is not strong enough to receive all the freeview channels so I don't have itv 1, 3, 4 or channels 4 & 5 which is a pain. Will have to see how much a new arial is going to cost so I can pick these channels up. Oh well and I thought I was saving some money.Missing my emmerdale and corrie at the moment now.
Just sorted out my breakdown cover for the year for £20, I budgeted for £40 so leaving the remainder in the bills account for emergencies plus had to buy new specs as I couldn't see out my current ones anymore so that was £80 spent. Fortunately I budget for dentist/specs each month but because that has been spent now, will have to hope teeth don't need doing this year. :rotfl:0 -
Well done on all the savings you've made. Just thought I'd mention that in the meantime you can watch Emmerdale and Corrie online on the ITVplayer

If you have kept the broadband, then you should be able to watch your soaps on the ITV website, and can catchup on recently missed episodes.Opening Mortgage balance as of 01.10.21 - £438,500.00 Current Mortgage balance as of 01.11.24 - £409,492.240

try getting a booster for your aerial. plus make sure you aerial is aimed in the right direction. I got rid of virgin and bought a freeview box with a hard drive, it only cost £50 and is nearly as good as the v+ box. its paid for itself after a few months is the way i see it and ive not watched adverts for over a year nowMortgage free:beer:

i got rid of sky recently and found that like you i couldn't get all the freeview channels. I bought a booster which helped a little, so thought I would have to get a new aerial. However I checked my feed into the attic to found the previous owner had done some poor connections, its worth checking your feeds in to make sure they are split correctly.

Hi all,
Many thanks for your replies, I am very grateful for all the suggestions. I'm going to try and see what the connections are like at the weekend then will look into a booster if necessary before I ring anyone. I have noticed that the pictures we have keep breaking up at the moment as well.
My bb is in the attic bedroom where we keep the pc so don't really fancy sitting up there, though you never know in an emergency0
