Thanks Froggy for your comment and kind support.
I guess it's just to do with feeling lonely and what's the point?
Thank you ever so much for reading my posts. Glad to see you are doing so well after your recent upheavals last year. Best Wishes.0 -
Well, start of another new week in Feb and not a great deal to report.
My grocery budget stands at £59/£150 already!! This is due to 'borrowing' £22 to cover last months bill and £37 spent last week. I didn't really need to get anything but I had a £5 off £40 spend voucher given me to use by 05/02 for Mr T's and I thought this was too good to ignore. So .......... I went and bought all the sorts of things I can't get at FF which will stay in the cupboard like teabags, coffee, tins of soup, beans etc. And guess what, I was given another £5 voucher to use for next week so........I'm going to do exactly the same again. If I can work it out properly, I just might be able to manage March with just getting the basic fridge requirements from FF. This is getting a bit sad, I know, but I can't let these vouchers go by, I itch to get the saving iykwim.
Anyway, didn't do much at the weekend, it was a quiet one without the kids so I just couch potatoed and caught up with all the dramas on tv. No other money spent but I have been thinking I need a small oil filled radiator for my little en-suite as it is so cold in there so I will look around for a decent priced one.
Lots of snow here which is lovely as the garden looks clean for a change. I appear to have a fox visiting now as it left me 'messages' in front of the kitchen door before the snow arrived and it looks like it tried to dig up our last hamster which was buried amongst some plants. I'm hoping she had 'gone' completely though as it was a while ago now she was buried.
Sorry for the waffle today. Like I've said before, I don't have interesting moneysaving things to write about as I don't do surveys and stuff but I thought if I keep posting, even dribble, it will keep me focussed more on saving money.
Bye for today.0 -
Just made a payment to m2, £20 not spent on Jan's allowance for me.0

Just wanted to add ... I'm enjoying the waffling ... You seem to be working lots of things out
... Have the birds noticed the new improved table yet ?
Hows dd taking her punishment now ? Has she accepted she needs this time for her future studies ?
How have u managed to get your gas and electricity so low ? I'm £180 a month ( it hurts )
Becoming MF is a slow process ... I feel like ive been grinding at it for such a long time now and cant see a light at the end of the tunnel ... But its there it just aint as fast a process as say paying off a £2k visa ( although i'm struggling with the visa just now lol )
Anyway good luck and keep posting your not alone0 -

Hello skint_spice,
Thanks a lot for reading my posts, it makes you feel less alone when someone replies.
I will keep plodding on, as I really need to get rid of my mortgages. M2 first as that is the higher rate at the mo and then on to the big one afterwards. I really don't fancy paying them until I'm 70

Hello elantan,
Thank you for reading and posting too, it all helps with the motivation.
Well, the bird table is still standing, I'm pleased to say. I have a number of pidgeons who are regulars who demolish a whole tray of food in a couple of hourse. I think that's why I don't see many other types of birds around, I can't remember the last time I saw a blackbird!
My dd has been doing well sticking to the new 'rules' although last night I was asked if she had to stick to it after Wednesday. I didn't even realise that it was half term already so I've said ok, the rules will not apply seeing as she isn't at school but all coursework needs to be up to date. I'm really happy that she has stuck with it so far though.
My gas and electric bills seem to be quite good so far (touch wood), the reason for this is because I'm at work 4/5 days so the heating is only on for a couple of hours by timer, morning and night and if the kids aren't there at the weekend, I don't bother with the heating at all for me. I just wrap up lots. Plus I try to get the best tariffs if I can. I have my electric tariff coming up for renewal in March so will look around for a fixed rate one as I prefer them. I've been doing this for so long now, its just another thing to be on top of
.
It is a slow process but you have to keep at it. I had to purchase a new car a couple of years ago so I had that car loan to pay off first which I managed to do over about a year, last year because I cut back so much. I wasn't paying anything off the mortgage at the time because that had to be got rid of.
The only downside to all of this, is I don't exactly have a life :rotfl:
Cheers and thanks again for the support.

Hi Ally
Just wanted to drop you a note to say keep up the great work, it will be worth it in the end.
I just found your diary tonight so had a quick read through the first and last page while DS1 has his allotted 15 mins on the Xbox before bed.
I hope you are ok and not feeling too down and lonely......
It sounds as though your daughter has sorted herself out which must be a big relief and a little less for you to worry about.
I've subscribed now so I'll look out for your updates and offer some moral support...
Best, L0 -
