God! That's horrendous! So expensive, even if they're getting the money back - what if they don't have it in the first place? Poor bloke! I'm being optimistic and looking at Italy budgets, don't know whether I should now!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Are people getting covered from insurance companies? I heard a lot were saying its an act of God and they're exempt. I'd be stuffed if I had to pay for another month in a hotel etc!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

We were talking about that in work yesterday and a guy was talking about the Billy Connolly film The Man Who Sued God - his boat was wrecked in a hurricane and he sued god - it was on tv last night, how weird is that?!
Insurance companies will try and get out of paying up but it's hardly their passenger's fault they are stranded!0 -
Hmm, well I opened up this 'reply' window about two hours ago, feeling all inspired to do a little update, but then work colleague who's off on maternity came in with her baby and work stopped while we all played with him.
So what was I going to say?
Been refreshing and refreshing the train line page all day waiting for the cheap tickets to go on sale for the date I want but no luck yet.
We've decided that once we get back from Italy we're really going to up our game with the househunting, maybe go in and actually speak to the agents - much as that thought makes me cringe, I hate salespeople!
Looks as though *touch wood* the flying ban has been lifted so hopefully it'll all be back to normal by the 8th May. Still haven't done any looking at budgets though
I'm quite pleased with how the money has gone this month, I still have £90 in the CA and I get paid on Monday. Secretly hoping that I can have about £50 left over to go towards Italy spends but we'll see, weekends have a habit of making me spend money.
We're housesitting this weekend though which is good as it means we can cook something to eat rather than go out somewhere so that'll be cheaper, and it'll be like playing house which is very exciting!
Seen a few likely cars on various websites today so going to do another tour of the North East on Saturday to have a look, really hope I can get something soon as Bluey's really starting to worry meMaternity colleague is selling her Mini to get something more baby friendly, and I offered her £2k which is my absolute maximum but she wouldn't take it
I think that's about it. Nothing exciting to report for the min, just pottering on. Should really get back to work seeing as I've done nothing all afternoon!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
tete minis arent all they are cracked up to be! mine loves drinking petrol0

Oh no, I'm not serious - I was thinking when I first got my 1L car that I'd quite like a 1.2 but not any more - I'm quite please with how economical Bluey is thanks very much - those Land Rovers and Jeeps will just have to be patient when they're behind me going up a hill in the Lakes
Just been looking at the train tickets, they're still not on sale for the 11th and the ones for the outward journey on the 9th are getting more expensive, I wanted to book them both together to save myself £1 booking fee but I'm better off booking them both at £13.50 + £1 than having one go up to £25. Going to give it another hour or so and see if the 11th ones go down, then will just book them separately.
Today is looking (touch wood) like I've caught up with myself a bit work wise so I want to at least sort a budget for Italy and do one Dooyoo. I wasn't going to post a list but it seems I can't fundtion without one so:
- Italy budget
- May budget (payday Monday!!!)
- Book train tickets
- Look at cottages
- one Dooyoo
- Ironing
- Print off info on some likely carsWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
OK, I'm not doing massively well on my to-do list but I AM feeling all creative! Have been thinking of all the little sewing projects I want to do:
- Dress for sewing class
- Vintage curtain skirt
- Stripey skirt, which I've seen the perfect fabric for on ebay...
- Patchwork cushion cover from child's dress I bought in a charity shop
- Cushion cover from old cardigan
- Birdy cross stitch
- Cats cross stitch
- Jersey maxi dress if I can find fabric...
If only I didn't have to spend so much time at 'real' workWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I know how you feel Tete! I was complaining yesterday because I used to sit in a corner with those divider boards up hiding me away from beady eyes so I'd have a lovely time making things at work but now I'm not hidden at all and all the horrible nosy people use my office as a walkthrough so I have to do nothing but work (or what looks like work), I've even had comments made that I'm 'always' on the internet... the complainers should spend more time doing their own job rather than scrutinise mine! I can't even print as much pretty paper as I used to as we don't have a colour printer in here so if I do print something in colour I have to leg it up the stairs to catch it before anyone sees! I really miss having the odd creative spurt between jobs!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
