First physio is tomorrow, I think I'll know a lot more after it, although I'm not sure what exactly I'm going to be able to do.

Yey take the skirt! I got this top on the Tesco points offer, to go with jeans or my high waisted navy shorts and then some wedge shoes (optemistic I can walk in heels again at some point!).

Aw it's cute, I don't think we've done fishtail hems have we?! I've seen and tried on one I like in H&M but it's a tad long, should be easy to take up though? Especially if I already have horizontal lines to work with!

Hope the physio goes well Dinah, it's good be to optimistic and plan on walking in heels again, you'll never progress if you're not!

If you take the skirt I want to see pictures of your handywork! :D

Wow what a very useful post Tete, can tell you are really into your walking, you sounded excited typing that post! Have copied and pasted so I can keep for future reference, even visited TK Maxx after work tonight but didn't see any walking boots, might try a outdoorsy shop at the weekend. Thanks again!

Nice skirt too, I'd look like Violet Beauregarde when she turns into a blueberry if I wore that though, ha!

I'd recommend just going to the outdoorsy shop Swinstie, the staff in them are great, and they can recommend boots for your foot shape. I'm on my second pair, and I did it this way on a friends suggestion, and they are 100x more comfortable and I've never had a blister in them - and I did DofE in them which was 5 days walking 18miles a day up and down the moors with a 4 stone pack on my back and 3 of those were in pelting rain which soaked through to my socks. The right boots can make walking pleasurable even in rotten conditions, so try not to be swayed by price and just look at fit.

:rotfl: I love little errors like that!

I hardly ever read anymore, not for fun anyway! I just don't have time. Next on my list though is The Shadow of the Wind cause apparently it's good.

Thanks for the great walking post Tete! I'd love to get into it properly. Dinah I hope your physio goes well, it must be torture when the weather is nice.

Love the skirt too! I agree with Dinah, you should have a teeny clothes budget treat as a well done for doing well with your money lately! :D

*Yawn* Good morning, early bird post from me today, I've woken up and can't get back to sleep, but can't get up and get a bit of flexi in because I have my non-flexi friend today (to take into work).

Swinstie, hehe, I was worried the cut was going to be really unflattering but by the time it was finished, and I'd shaved off the extra few inches I'd somehow managed to put in!, it looks ok :)

Another tip when looking for walking gear is to find something you like in walking shops, find what size you need, and look it up on the internet - lots of bargains to be had. OH recently bought a North Face bag for £45 which was selling for £80 - £100 elsewhere. If you have a Go Outdoors near you, they have a good range of stuff and you can get some bargains.

Dinah I agree with getting quality boots, but was under the impression Swinstie's just starting out and I think spending a lot of money on a hobby like this is silly if you're not sure yet that you're really into it and going to continue. OH's friend was saying the other day he's going to go out and buy a top of the range mountain bike with the theory that he's spent a lot of money on it so he'll HAVE to use it but it doesn't work like that does it? Remember you signed up to an expensive gym last year and were soon regretting it?

Hi Zig! I seem to have heard of The Shadow of the Wind so must be a good un! I managed about three pages of my book last night before I fell asleep! And yes, you should start walking too! It's fab!
