Okey dokey, so main bit of news is that the MOF has been depleted to £143.38, however I do now have flights booked to Italy in May :D:D:D OH has said that he'll get the hotels if I pay for the flights and airport parking which means I'm getting a pretty good deal so I'll have to shout him a few ice creams while we're over there!

I also surprisingly still have £465 in the CA with only three weeks til payday, so that's pretty good, one £20 DD still to go out and I'll get the airport parking from this account (about £25?), but I'm still hoping that I can at least replace the £126 for the flights at the end of the month. For next month I'll maybe try and get the MOF to £300, as I'll also have to account for Italy spending money.

Poor Bluey is going from bad to worse, I was driving along and something clanged out of the bottom of the car onto the road - OH said it's part of one of my suspension springs and sure enough it now makes an ominous bedspring type noise when I go over speedbumps (and potholes!). This could apparently cost up to £80 to get fixed, but I'm going to start looking for a new car instead. I think my ISA interest gets added today, so going to enquire about making a large withdrawal! Might take about £2k out and then if I don't spend that much it can go back in again. Also need to find out how much interest I'm getting now that my fixed rate has finished, then possibly look for another account elsewhere.

Did a major spring clean yesterday and sort of caught myself by surprise, but feel LOADS better now that it's done, it's unbelievable how much a nice environment alters your outlook on life - I even feel more zen about the house thing.

    So few things to do:

    - Buy airport parking
    - Research hotels in Pisa and Florence
    - 2 Dooyoos
    - Copy 3 to Ciao
    - Go to Lloyds ask about ISA rate and withdrawing money
    - Find out what day car auction is on
    - Book appt for booster
    - Drop Harry Potter books off at Gran's (:))
    - Washing
    - Ironing
    - Tidy up [STRIKE]Sewing[/STRIKE] Dining Table
    - Finish cutting out lining
    - Make a start on dress
    - Read last 2 chapters of The Subtle Knife

Sounds a bit like OH and me, but the other way round. OH wants to move now, but i want to wait until something we really love comes up.

Haha, this is good, we'll have to keep in touch so we can each offer our OH's perspective!

I have a chondral lesion caused by chondromalacia patellae, basically the lining of my knee has been wearing away for years (which it shouldnt be doing anyway) and now its torn. I get 6 weeks of physio, which may or may not lead to keyhole surgery.

At least you have a name for it now! It's annoying that you've had to wait three months to find this out though and then it might be fixed with just 6 weeks of physio! Rolly-eyes!

Maybe a flat with a big balcony? We had barbeques on ours and I used to sit out there for breakfast and watch the sun come up along the Tyne, it was fab! Hope a house comes up though, maybe you need to cast a slightly wider net in terms of the areas you are looking in?

Oh, I don't think a balcony would cut it, especially as it won't be overlooking the Newcastle Quayside! Because we work so far apart we're fairly limited really especially as the places between aren't always that nice! But as I said I'm feeling a bit more zen today :)

I'm glad you're feeling all Zen today! How exciting about the flights to Italy! How long are you going for? Ooooh I'm jealous! :)

I know what you mean about Spring Cleans making you feel better, it took me a couple of hours a night all last week to sort out my spare room but it looks amazing now. OH and I actually spun around without touching anything which couldn't happen before! I now have to make some headway on the wardrobes but I know I'll feel a lot better once it's done! Now that my craft desk is all clear I actually got some scrapbooking done over the weekend too, I can feel the inspiration coming back, yay!

That's what I'm hoping for with my sewing once I've sorted through all the junk in the dining room!

We're only going for three nights - two in Florence and one in Pisa :) Hope it's sunny and we don't have a re-enactment of Paris last year!

I definitely agree here, a balcony is not my idea of outdoor space - im sure the cat would agree aswell!! :rotfl:

And you cant invite friends etc round for a bbq on a balcony!

Glad your feeling better about everything today, you will get there with the house - and im sure it will be something amazing!!

Very jelous that sounds lovely. I'd really like to go to Italy next year, but I don't think NIM will have enough holiday time, New York is a definate, we think we're going to be putting off Japan till 2012 though just down to the spiralling house and wedding costs.

We did! We had a 4 person table and chairs out there, and we had 12 people on the balcony (I wasn't one of them - utterly terrified it would collapse!) with a little bbq, was lovely. I agree a house is much more preferable, but it is possible (not common but possible!) to get a flat with outside space if budgets don't stretch to a house.

We have a communal garden outside our flat and we've had BBQs outside, usually when everyone had their washing out on the lines that they weren't supposed to put up so their clothes got the stink on! Mwahahaha! Looking forward to doing it again this summer!

I understand you wanting a garden just for yourself though, it's a lot nicer and we're looking forward to having a house with a real garden!

It's a shame he can't get flexi - I'm sure I double my quota by working through dinner hours here and there :D I think you have enough to be concentrating on for now without adding planning a trip to Japan into the equation!

You're not allowed washing lines but you ARE allowed barbecues?! Odd. Having a garden really is a sticking point for me, I've lived in plenty of flats that only have a yard or nothing at all and I really missed having a bit of green space. Plus we're grown ups now not students, this is going to be our home for a long while so we should have somewhere that's right. Just a matter of waiting for it to come available!

I saw this and thought of you with the 2k budget!

How exciting about Italy, that is enough to make anyone feel good. Bet you are really excited, I would loe to visit there.

Sorting through things does make you feel better doesn't it. I hate things being all cluttered.

Our (new) flat is ground floor but no outdoor space really which is annoying but we can sit out by the canal so not too bad.
