I just stuck labels onto my Christmas card envelopes. Because of the problem I had with the printing I ended up with double sheets of two pages, so thought I still needed 28 more cards than I thought. Soooooo I actually have enough cards without breaking into the box I got last night.

I'm really disappointed to hear that Borders is in trouble. There's nothing I like better than nipping down there early evening for a browse (OK, and often a purchase!) when hubby is away and I haven't been out anywhere. I hope they find a solution to their problems.

One of my next jobs is to start and write some detailed shopping lists for the next few weeks, to ensure I stick within my budget.

I also have a piece from a newspaper from about 10 yrs ago, listing all the things you might need to have in over Christmas. Shan't get most of it of course, but it might prove a useful aide-memoir for Mrs Winter Brain.

Hope the poorlies have a good night. I shall have a minor disturbance as dh gets home tonight - late.

    Evening all :hello:

Haribo - sorry to hear about your DTwin1 being so poorly (how horrible and scary for all of you...), but very glad that she is getting a bit better now. Hope she is back to bright and chirpy again soon! :D
MSD - Glad Tris is home again now. Like others have already said, its always nicer to be back at home when you are recuperating. ;)

Hugs :grouphug: to all who are under the weather or just need/want one, and congrats to all who have something to celebrate today. :j Happy Thanksgiving to all those who are celebrating the holiday! _party_

We are still living in the land of the cardboard box. One of the good things was that we sold quite a bit of our furniture to our (first time) buyer, which meant less of the heavy stuff to move.:T However, we have now discovered that the downside is that we left him all our "storage" furniture (divan beds with drawers, bookshelves and an enormous cupboard which ran the whole length of our lounge and hid a multitude of sins/boxfuls!!). We now realise that we have nowhere to unpack our cardboard boxes into... :o

We did venture into the nearest town this afternoon and have bought a couple of open shelving units to put up in the kitchen (old house = large fitted kitchen with oodles of cupboards, new house = two wall cupboards and a table, + sink, fridge and cooker, all freestanding!). The theory is that we can use the shelves for now and make the kitchen functional, then as we get sorted (and put a new kitchen in), they can be relegated to the shed/garage and re-used again, but at least it gives us something for now!

We also hit Morrisons for their multi-buy offers and bought some bits and pieces for batch cooking so that we can fill our little freezer - there's something reassuring about having my Pyrex dishes full of bolognese/chilli/curry which can provide a dinner at the ping of a microwave, and I miss the security of knowing they are there at the moment!! :rotfl:

So, tomorrow should be a batch cooking session...but there is a Christmas Craft Fair advertised about 20 miles away, and I am rather fancying that instead (it might get me into the Christmas mood a little...:snow_grin). Hmmm, decisions, decisions...!!!

Hope you all have a good evening.

Thanks again everyone. She's getting better I think  I'm too pi$hed from all the sloe gin I've been drinking and we appreciate all your good wishes. :o:A

That's great news Haribo. :T But do try and control yourself. :D

Marie I'll send you it soon. No, we're not coming to Ireland.

I hope to make some more onion marmalade this morning if I can get into the kitchen while it's still a bit cooler. I really shouldn't be on here. Sleep well. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
