....DD is off to a gig tomorrow night, so I am being invaded by three giggiling girlies from school, and I have to drive them to the gig, dd's dad is picking them up after, as none of the other parents can do it , I have told dd this is the last time I will be taking her, I have done it both ways twice now, ( its a good 1/2 hour each way) not one parent has offered to help, or any petrol money, makes me a bit ....redruby - I would be cross about the lack of anything from other parents too! We had a phase like that a while back where DH's ex was ferrying SD and her friends everywhere and it became expected. She just had to stop it in the end, and when SD's friends started asking their parents for lifts they twigged.
We had a phase like this - I became "unavailable" for a while, and miraculously, as Lowesy says, it all became much fairer :rolleyes:HariboJunkie wrote: »Thanks to everyone who has mentioned Dtwin1. ....
Hope you all manage to get some rest & that she's improving xx0 -
Morning all,dry here at the moment and not too bad,I am going to sort the ironing out this morning, not a lot to do but I want to get it done before the week-end.I may make some odds and ends soup later as I have quite a bit of vegges that look a bit past their best, celery, carrots, onions, spuds, leeks and a rather wrinkly red pepper.Good basis there for a large pot I think.I can use some stock from the freezer as well so thats enough for lunchtime and several portions for the freezer. My youngest tribe of children are still poorly with the winter virus ,its my son-in-laws birthday today as well.DD picked up his presents last night as I daren't get near any bugs with my immune system being shot. The boys telephone me every day and the little one is so sad bless him, he misses his old Granny, and can't understand why I can't come round and give him a big cuddle.Still hopefully at least its now being poorly, and not next month which would really crack him up.I am going to write out my Christmas cards this afternoon as well.I have several overseas ones that will have to go off next week.Well hope everyone has a good day
take care all

Morning everyone.
<shamefaced> there will be hardly any OS today as I feel awful. I've not had a cold virus that has kicked in this fast. Felt a bit off last night and by 3.30am this morning my glands were killing me and nose was all stuffed up!! Kids still got it so having a stay at home day which involves a lot of telly watching and not alot else
Haribo - Your poor daughter. Sending lots of get better vibes her way. How frightening to have her whipped into hospital. Hope you're OK too xxx
Diva - so glad Tris is home - no better place to recuperate quite frankly than your own muck heap x
Hugs to everyone that needs it. Tissues are on me for all the poorlies

I don't celebrate Thanksgiving personally either, and don't actually know anyone who does over in the UK, but just wanted to mention it for anyone who DOES have American friends or who like N9eav have a connection there. But I thought your words were lovely, so thank you.:D
Diva.x
Two lovely posts & I agree with the sentiment of Thanksgiving too even though I don't celebrate it either. My parents have family in America so I always remember the day (apart from when my week is mixed up like this weeks
)
Well I'm definitely getting off here now & making my way over to MIL's flat :rotfl:
Bitsy Sorry you've got the lurgy too. Have a ((hug)) and stay warm & snuggled up with the children xxx0 -
Good morning chaps and girls.
I didn't get out of bed until nearly 9.30, except to make a cuppa and pick up the phone. Had a reasonable sleep. Just as well, it gets busy later, a couple of lessons in work, visiting my godson to deliver gifts for birthday tomorrow, then parents' evening for ds. Got one appt out of the way last night after school, as music staff have rehearsals to go to. All good with that dept at least.
Got some more cards made last night.
Today... swished our bathroom and started on the floordrobe/chairdrobe/radiatordrobe collecting up my summer things to put away. I hate it when the linen trousers have to go away. This year mainly because I have bu999er-all else to wear! Anyway, looks a bit better up there. Will try and do some more during the week. Not vaccing up there this week.
DH will be home very late tonight I think, it's the 4 day week this week
which is good. Hope it will be a quiet weekend. He's done the cam-belt on my car recently and is planning to do his this weekend. He's also doing scratch Messiah Friday/Saturday.
OS here, not sure. SOme cleaning jobs. Some fridge clearance. Just me for tea tonight, though not sure when I will get it. DS staying at school till parents' evening, so will buy lunch and has packed tea with him. I'm finding it very useful him taking lunch. I have stopped automatically thinking 'sandwiches' and checking what there is in the way of leftovers he can heat up. I haven't calculated whether it's cheaper to over cater on our cheaper meals (say jacket potatoes) that he can take, or whether sandwiches are cheaper.
Sun is shining. ...now behind cloud! SAD lamp is on.
Just realised I haven't had any breakfast so must do that.
Hope poorly people are getting better, must have been a shock HJ. Glad Tris is out of hospital."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Aw, thank you for all the good wishes everyone and the lovely pms. :A
She had a headache yesterday and vomited before bed but went to bed ok. I heard her cough about an hour later and luckily went up to check as she was collapsed unconscious on the stairs and vomiting. I dread to think what would have happened if I hadn't got up to check. We brought her round and I called NHS24.
I think she's had some form of migraine as she doesn't feel sick at all but keeps being sick and headache is still there though not as bad. I think the nurse on the phone just sent the ambulance as she was worried about meningitis as DD was photosensitive and had a rash too. I had done the glass test though and the rash disappeared. Thankfully it seems that it was just a really bad headache but boy have we had a shock. _pale_
I've actually woken up a bit so chicken curry is made for tonight's tea and I have a pot of stock on the go. Am just going to feed the hens then sit and knit for the day and keep an eye on the wee one.
Sorry you're unwell Bitsy. Take care. xx
Hope the Sad lamp works Ivy.
Nice to see you Sunnyday.

Hi,
Haribro - hope your little one feels much better soon xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all

Well, I'm shattered after arriving home at 2 am from gatwick (thanks to a traffic diversion). I had a meeting at 9am, another at 10 am and a seminar at 11 am - and now I'm ready to go home
I came home to a pile of folksy orders - which I have to sort out - although I need some cardboard and to order some jump rings online as I am running low. I have sold nearly 30 things in two weeks
They are only tiny little things, but it all helps.
Actually, all I want to do is go home and play with the beads I bought in Prague
Haribo - sorry to hear about DTwin1 - hope she starts to feel better soon
Have a good day all, celx:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Afternoon all.
Well, OS is just not happening in the Wolf's Lair today. I was up til silly o'clock nursing a sick computer (thought I was going to have to reinstall the operating system, but luckily it didn't come to that) and today I'm dog-tired, and my eyes are horribly sore and keep watering, prob from looking at the screen for hours on end.
So all today's jobs will be deferred.
:o
I've read the thread, but not taken much in, tbh, so (((HUGS))) to all who want/need one, and healing vibes for Haribo's Dtwin1.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
