OS Daily Thread - Thanksgiving Day USA

Happy Thanksgiving people! I have many American friends from doing summer camp last year so it's nice to be able to have a mini celebration for them!
I've had a good day
I took my young people out for the day and we went to Laserzone - you run round shooting people with lazers in the dark and smoke! - and I won! I kicked their @rses :rotfl: without even trying! Considering they are mainly teenage boys and I'm 27, female and on the chunky side I'm quite pleased with myself
And after that we spend an hour or so wandering the shops, which translates to them sitting in McD's and me in Primark, and starting my Christmas shopping! I didn't actually buy any presents but I have found some for people and will pick them up on weekend. And I finished an hour early
Good day.
I need to think of ideas of something typically British/Welsh to take out to New Zealand for Christmas, so feel free to suggest stuff to me!
I'm making fajitas for tea. I'm going to make a big batch of sauce and freeze the leftovers. Then I'm going to curl up with my book I think.
Have a good evening
x
ps Haribo - I hope your daughter is better soon

Flutterby - New Zealand are really strict about what you can take in, they are mainly concerned with Food and plant items. So check the rules before you go cos otherwise they will be binned at the airport!0

MSD - so glad to hear Tris is out of hospital, thats great news.
Haribo - gosh what a shock that must have been for you, so glad Dtwin1 is home and on the mend.
I've had a very lovely day at the Good Food Show in Birmingham today. Have had so many free samples of lovely food, in particular cheese which I love.
. Also tried out lots of the wine samples, and treated myself to a bottle of Dooleys for Christmas (for those who haven't heard of it its like Baileys, but in my opinion even nicer! Its toffee vodka, but you would never know it had vodka in it, and totally lush!).
Also managed to bag a fair few coupons, even though Tesco no longer take them unless you buy the product there are a fair few I'll use, plus I can use a third in my local waitrose without buying the product, so it all helps!0 -
Haribo, I hope your dd is on the mend, bug hugs to all of you, must have been a terrible shock

Late one from me,so am late catching up on the news-hope DTwin1 is feeling a bit better now,Haribo, horrible for you all.x
I've been doing some present shopping today,my brother rang last night to say what DN would like,so I got that from Argos, and a nice bracelet from Debenhams for her mum. They are coming to us at Christmas,so that'll be nice.DBs SD is bringing her boyfriend too,he came last year and stunned us all with his appetite. He makes his own meals so I think he was making the most of s.o.else doing the cooking.
Osiness -Had lamb chops, sausage and chips for tea,and I made some choc raisin muffins for afters.
I've finished the 2 shopping bags for the Christmas goodies for 2 friends, quite pleased with those-the bags are dark red so look quite festive.
Off to sit in front of the telly fora bit now.
Diva- so glad Tris is home x
Sunnyday- welcome back-I've missed your doggy tales.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Evening
Just called back in to see if any news re Dtwin - glad to hear she is feeling a little better Haribo
Diva - good news about Tris being allowed home.
Well I am shattered, had a really productive day though - so a good tired! lol
Tidied house, done lots of Christmas buying and wrapping.
Made shepherds pie for tea plus 4 more portions in freezer and also container of mash in freezer (was using up the last of a sack of potatoes that were going a bit wrinkly and sad) Grated a load of cheese and froze that as it was needing using too and also chopped onions and froze them too. Only problem is I have been trying to empty my freezer a bit ready for Christmas food but as soon as you take one thing out another few seem to go in:rolleyes::D
Have sorted out a dress for Christmas do at work (next saturday) went through wardrobe and found a previous years (well a few years previous actually) dress that has not been seen by this crowd of people before, so that saves buying a new one. I hate to have to buy new dresses for these dos as you never get to wear them much and it seems such a waste of money. So pleased with that
Just been watching HFW and OH has just asked for his book for Christmas as he enjoys his way of doing things - result (win, win as I wanted it anyway lol:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
Have a good evening all
