Would this advice still stand AFTER the OP has admitted to parking there, albeit with a blue badge?

Yes, it applies to every case of private parking tickets, ignore everything except Court.

Only a mug would pay a private parking ticket, no matter what the circumstances. Even if I camped out on a mother and baby bay (with no baby with me) for 2 weeks I would not even consider paying the dozen or so tickets I would no doubt attract.

Of course not, their tickets are trash, whether you were 'in the wrong' or not.
There are no worries about 'admitting to' anything, as it isn't an offence.

There will be NO REPERCUSSIONS, no effect on credit rating (there was no credit agreement, it wasn't a loan) and no bailiffs. Posters on here speak from experience.

It's just threatening letters, we've all had them! Ignore the whole series then they stop.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • thankyou to all who as posted and due to the responses we will now ignore the ticket and appeal letter, and see what happens. My daughter now agrees to see what happens next. Will keep you all informed of procedures from the firm and thankyou again. Just to add her car was wrote off 8th dec by a drink driver going into the back of her too, so she just had a very bad week. Not to drol on but driver gettin away with drinking as police did not respond and he drove off but had given
her minimal details, so done nothing wrong.

    Hi everyone,

I was in Harvey Nicks car park the other =day, and there was a big sign saying no parking [mummies and kiddies only], but I parked anyway but only because my handicapped dog [it's got diabetes] needed to go to the toilet [this is one of the side effects of it's disease and the medication it has to take].

When I got back to my shiny big Range Rover Sport [09-reg] there was a PCN-thingy on there from EXEL????. My lawyer has told me to pay it or we will get a summons and a bigger fine.

    Any advise please?

I would love to, but she's a friend of a friend kind of thing, and related to my wife's cousin. Also we went to the same school, dinechano.

The just ignore your lawyer in this regard. She is mistaken. Remind her that private companies cannot issue fines,.refer to the Dunlop case.
And that small claims court does not issue a summons - she should know that at least !

    What is her specialty ?

Lucky BFG - our nearest Harvey Nicks doesn' thave it's own car park.

Thank goodness one can send the staff in one's stead.
