  • Same here, I did address the ticket raised by them, but did not include reference numbers, but they asked for them, then put it on hold, so I can not give any!

Regardless of anyones opinions of whether none, one or two hundred tickets could have morally been bought(is one really any different from 100?), a few facts remain. There was no minimum spend and no restrictions on the amount of times this cashback could be done when we did the transactions. We the consumers and members did take advantage of their simply daft offer and knew full well what we were doing, but you would think that surely the onus is on companies who are the professionals, to make sure any terms and conditions or offers are watertight, it is their job after all and those at quidco know full well that members will use 'tricks' to gain maximum cashback and really should know better.

Personally if Virgin decline, I accept that as retailers simply do, often without due reason and unless it is a major cashback for say insurance, I doubt many people have the time or energy to argue over a few pounds.

However I will not accept that Quidco seem hell bent on not paying and are demanding information in a rude manner and treating members(whether they purchase a few or silly amounts) as they were criminals.

Obviously they have terms of membership and misuse or abuse is spoken of, but does this really come under abuse? If people created multiple accounts to take advantage, they should ban them and not pay out, but why say they are going to deal with us appropriately if we are open about it and not hiding upon multiple accounts?

If Quidco(not Virgin) carry on with this attitude I will use other cashback sites. They may be the biggest and have the best rates and most merchants, but if they are the kind of company that favours merchants over members(who pay a fee) I'll go elsewhere. We pay to use their services and I do not feel they are currently providing one by making some people feel bad about their actions.

I definitely wouldn't count what we did as abuse. We haven't defrauded the retailer by cancelling the tickets and still trying to claim cashback (as is in the example in Quidco's T & C), we paid our money and received our tickets. If someone at Virgin made a promotional error, that's their fault and it should be wrote off as a bad job. I doubt Branson got where he is today without taking risks to make profit, how are we any different in trying to profit in return?
