not quite feeling that positive today. one of my friends is getting married this year and we're supposed to be going away for the weekend for her hen night. problem is it's going to cost £200 and i really can't justify spending that amount of money for a weekend. we live on less than that for the 3 of us for a month after bills. but i'm a bridesmaid so i really have to go. i need to pay the balance within the next week but i'm keep putting it off. i need to get a grip and pay it cos our friendship hasn't really been the same since i had DD and if i don't go it would kill it. i did mention that it seems a lot of money for a weekend but was told "that's how much it costs".
plus i suffered from PND after having DD and have since got a bit of a fear of places and people i don't know. i don't want to spoil the hen night for her cos she's always been such a good friend and i would love our friendship to go back to the way it was. i spent the other evening crying to DH about it but he's got enough on his plate with his mum being so ill. i just need somewhere to vent and sometimes writing it down makes it easier.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Very difficult one.
But your friend does not live in the real world if she thinks that people have that sort of money to spend on a hen weekend.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. that's how i feel.
anyway spent friday listing books on amazon and have sold a grand total of 4 already. i'm really pleased. plus i sold something on e bay as well. just waiting for the money to come in now. yay
i'm shattered today. i've worked 3 nights so far, tonight will be my 4th. i cycled to work as well as DH needs to leave for work before i get home and he works further away than i do so he gets the car. luckily we live with my parents so my step dad takes DD to nursery. i only work 2 miles away and it's fine cycling there as it's very quiet on the roads (10pm) but cycling back after a full night when i'm tired and it's all uphill on the way back is nearly killing me. on the upside i should get fitter and lose a bit of the excess weight i carry.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
got a sneaky thursday all to myself as DD's nursery said she could go in an extra day this week as she didn't go in at all last week due to chicken pox but we still had to pay the fee's. so that was nice of them. going to try and get some housework done. got a support and development meeting at 1pm today. got a lot of things to bring up as i'm a bit fed up in work at the moment. then on a training course tomorrow at the office. it's a bit of a trek but i can claim my milage back so not too bad i suppose. shame i have to wait til the end of next month to get it back though!! never mind.
had my first NSD of the month on tuesday. i did really badly in february so i'm determined to do better this month. hoping for another one today as well so that will get me off to a good start.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Not posted here for a while. Perhaps I’ll start with a money update
Car Loan [STRIKE]£4977.90[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£4608.78[/STRIKE] £4485.84
Barclaycard [STRIKE]£5103.82[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£4057.75[/STRIKE] £4000.49
Mint card [STRIKE]£1961.67[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£441.44[/STRIKE] £0 :j
Egg (0% BT) [STRIKE]£900[/STRIKE] £899
Total [STRIKE]£11,816.05[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£10,007.97[/STRIKE] £9385.33
The Mint card is now completely gone and although the Egg card looks like it’s only come down a £1 there was a BT fee put on top of the £900 which has been paid. Overall debt is now less than £9.5k so am really pleased with that.
On a personal note I have been feeling quite down recently about our living arrangements and have come to the conclusion that we cannot live with my parents much longer. It isn’t doing DH and I much good to be honest. We’re really grateful to them as they’ve really helped us out of a tight spot but we really need our own space so as we’ve managed to pay off all our o/d and 2 c/c’s now we’re going to concentrate on saving for a deposit and we hope to be in our own home by Christmas (Summer is our target) then we can get back to serious debt busting. So it’ll be minimum payments only to the debts while we plough most of DH’s wages into our savings.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
DH has had his first pay check and we’ve moved some of it into our savings. Haven’t moved all of it as he seems to have been paid more than we thought so he’s going to check it out with his boss before he moves any more in case they’ve made a mistake and ask for some of it back. We’re using an old savings account we opened when we bought our last house so it’s quite fitting really. Had a little bit of change in there already so it all adds up to 5% saved. :j
Listed a few bits on TL today, just need to take some photos and I can upload them. Hopefully do that when I get home from work but I’m so shattered already that I’m tempted to just go straight to bed.
DH is taking DD to see his parents tomorrow so I can sleep alllllllllllllllllll day without interruptions. That sounds so nice.
Signing off now to knit some more of the blanket I’m knitting for my mum for Christmas.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
