Those that are still in place are only open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (when most, although not all, folks are at work) or Saturday mornings; last Saturday I spent an hour in the queue to post a package.
As for online banking, have to say in most cases I love it, but my local council cant manage it; we've had six significant errors in 4 yrs, resulting in a court summons. Fortunately we were not only up to date on our council bill, but the council owed us £900. We got that, but we didnt get an apology. So online banking has its limitations...
I pay all my bills by cheque. If they remove this option I will just pay by card over the phone. I mainly use online banking to check for errors and irregularities. I honestly think this reliance on DD has made people passive and less in control of their money. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
This is a thread within a forum for people trying to reclaim some money back for excessive charges made by their respective banks.
Agreed, these charges are in the t&c's but cost wise it's the equivalent of printing money for banks. Even my family who work in the industry agree to this.
but the last thing people need after the ruling today is people winding them up by "I told you so" and "ha ha ha tough luck"-type messages.
we should be supporting each other not using this as a platform to alienate everyone. As it has been said before.. "if you have nothing constructive or nice to say, don't say anything"0 -
Having an opinion does not make someone a troll.
Being unable to prove your defamatory claims about a fellow poster makes you a liar.
Not complaining about someone using the term Retard whilst you lie about the words used by someone with an alternative viewpoint, and attempt to ban them, makes you a hypocrite and a censor.
I don't come here often, and it's because of people like you who bring the forum down. Shame on you. I suggest you consider a self-imposed ban for the sake of the wider community.
i cna prove except there post have been removed i havent brought the forum down

I WISH SOME PEOPLE ON HERE WOULD GROW UP!!!

Yes the courts have said the banks have won, but it isnt over.
So i wish people would stop slagging each other off just because they are better than some in keeping their money right.
So back to the post, what will happen now? will people get a refund?

From BBC News:The brutal truth though seems to be that the claims for refunds of past charges, whether at the banks, in the courts or with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) are dead in the water.
"That is the end of it," a barrister who specialises in banking told the BBC.
"All these actions will be struck out - there is no basis for them as currently constituted."
What if my bank has already paid?
Before the mountain of claims started, a number of banks paid claimants instead of going through with county court cases.
However, these were "goodwill gestures". This means that, if you have received one of these payments, you do not need to pay that money back.
The chances of getting a refund if yours is one of the cases on hold now seems extremely slim.
My understanding is that each case must be considered by the banks individually, but there is no onus to repay the charges as it is not within the remit of the OFT to challenge the banks on their charging structures. The OFT are currently considering other ways of challenging the charges but apparently their spokesman said that they 'didn't know' what they would do next - I would have expected them to be a little more prepared than that."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful" - William Morris
