I know I know, clearly I can't manage my finances - well done you for pointing that out.
I obviously should have been able to manage better when my ex partner left me and didn't pay anything towards our joint mortgage, bills, or his 3 week old daughter while I was on maternity leave, and for a long time after.
I should have been able to *magic* that extra £700 a month into my account.
How irresponsible of me to try and stay afloat .
Like I said - you don't know people's circumstances.
Not wishing to sound unsympathetic, but, how is any of that the bank's fault?0 -

OFT bank charges investigation derailed by Supreme Court ruling:
"The Office of Fair Trading loses two-year fight to investigate overdraft charges by high street banks
The Office of Fair Trading suffered a major blow in the Supreme Court this morning when the country’s most senior judges ruled that the regulator could not investigate the fairness of overdraft charges for unauthorised bank charges."

Sadly the £200 per month charge cycle imposed by the bank was difficult to break free from - but I suppose that would have been down to my inability to manage my finances.
Despite asking for help and explaining my situation, it fell on deaf ears.96 items decluttered so far in 20130 -

The exclamation marks in one post are probably something injected by the forum software to cover up some letters which sound like a swear word in a word which rhymes with "reckless," one which Father Ted would use. I'll have a go here to see if it works: !!!!less.
Are you going to report Matt16v for calling someone a Retard? I notice you thanked him for that post, presumably your finger slipped when you were going for the Report button.Wasting money hand over fist0 -
Proof or it never happened. You reported him after the 2nd post of his new account.

I can see the point of view of the people who are posting comments along the lines of "it's all your fault" "should have handled money better" "why should the bank bail us out".... but c'mon the billions of public money that the banks taken in charges and then the billions in hand-outs from the government , 3 words for the bank and the supporters of these charges - Pot, Kettle, Black...
it was getting obvious it wouldn't go in the favour of OFT how on earth would the government get any money back from them if they've got to pass it back to the public.
