new car, missing items from specification

I bought a new car and taken delivery of it mid september. I then noticed that there were minor standard items(not optional extras) that were missing or changed for my model and mark,2 of these are written in the specification document in paper and on the webiste, other missing cosmetic and functional items are displayed in brochure at order time with some disclaimer that is for illustration purposes. These are in the specification still at delivery time and still appear in current date specification for my car.
I reported these missing items to the dealer whom said they change specification without notice, however the manufacturers customer services have said some should be on the car others like seat back pockets are now horrible nets, on the specification of the manufactuers other models they are described as nets but for my model + version in the specification document they are described as pockets and even show the pockets in the brochure then and currently.
They have deleted the boot light which is a pain at night when you try to find stuff in the boot, this was not written in the specification but were displayed in the photos and have been on the car since 2006 plus I do not know of any family people carrier that does not have a boot light. This model revision was introduced end of last year and the specifications/brochure have not change, the dealer referred me to the web specifications as being current for this model, they only told me of 2 different items as point of when ordered which I accepted, however there now appears to other minor changes.
on the back of the order form it does not mention they can change the specification without notice and as far as I can tell the 2 of the items are written in the specification back then and still in the specification today, photos are displaying the rest.my parents had a lower mark last revision year model from the this dealer, the dealer was aware and communicated at the time at point of order that I wanted the same car as them but top of the range model.
The dealer has said he would contact the manufactuer, we chased him up again a couple of weeks later when our other car was being looked at, he said we would know when he knew 9 weeks later he still has not come back.
where do I stand?

Whats wrong with the TWO PAGES of replies you got on THIS POST??0

OP can you document everything that is missing along with the full spec of the car.0

Like you say they are MINOR changes. You got some money off it if I remember correctly from your other thread on this issue in Motoring so just be happy with your new car and stop worrying about these small issues. It is more important that the car is a good runner and reliable than what the behind the seat pockets are made of!
Deal with it and move on - you're an adult.

well the manufacturers discount is on all the range available to anyone and still available now, which manufacturers are not discounting at the moment? and how many new cars can not be haggled down further? I fail to see what the price I paid for the car has any relation to standard equipment that was stated. The thread on motoring was just unhelping I thought the adults would like to comment, especially when it comes consumer rights and legal issues that come with.0 -

however the damper and pockets are listed but not there. If I was told beforehand I would of been happy.
and implied from brochure and internet photos and know for a fact they were on all of last years revision for all versions of this model, boot light, chrome exhaust, rear storage covers. Again if I was told before I would of haggled the price down especially boot light with young children and all the junk that goes with it in the boot. The dealer knew I had driven the previous years model and wanted a car like it. I was informed that the roof bars were not on the car anymore and they had been replaced with better roof rails, but again I accepted as I was informed at the time and placed the order. yes they are minor changes but that coupled with the attitude and lack of action with the dealer and contradicting information from the manufacturer customer services saying damper should be on the car and the dealer can retro fit it, I want to know what laws come into play to put my foot down to get a quick resolution to the issues.0 -
I don't know what more you want from folk on here. Most have expressed an opinion and you aren't happy with that. So you must decide if you wish to pursue it via the courts.
Do you feel that confident that it will be worth it?0 -
I was hoping for more definitive answer with factual information rather than blaze opinions0

In which case, a solicitor should probably be your next port of call - all you will get on here are opinions - even those who are qualified to respond (and we only have their word for it on these forums) cannot be a substitute for proper legal advice.0

I have only picked up on the latter stages of this, but it seems to me that if you enquire about X, pay for X, you should get X. Not complicated really.
A missing boot light might be minor to some, but to others it’s the end of the world. That’s a matter of opinion and deviant is entitled to see it as a key factor if they wish to.
If it was me, I would write to the dealer principal and tell them in as few words as possible what is wrong (bullet points), highlight that you pointed out the issues at an early stage after taking delivery, but to date you have received no response. Then tell the DP what you want to resolve the matter. Be reasonable – requesting £500 compensation for a missing boot light could be seen as greedy but requesting they retrofit a boot light sounds reasonable. If you don’t get a response write again copying the original letter and setting a 7 day time limit for a response.
If you still get no response, write to the next level up (Area Manager if a big chain of garages or it could be the MD if a smaller organisation). IMPORTANT – keep it polite, clear and as short as possible AND copy in the DP. Appear as reasonable as possible to the AM, naturally pointing out that his/her DP has not responded to your previous two letters.
Keep escalating it higher up the command chain, copying in ALL the previous recipients every time. You will get your boot light eventually.
