Takoda, I’m very new to this forum. For sure there is a lot of advice and practical information/content shared, plus a bit of banter and light heartedness which is great. However, there also seems to be some who derive more satisfaction trying to ridicule others. You only have to read the other thread in motoring, to see that some of the more narrow minded members quickly seek to take it off topic.
Does it really matter if deviant considers important, what you consider minor? Is that not what makes everyone different? By posting something like this I guess he/she was leaving themselves open to the anally retentive accusation, but maybe there is room for us all to be a little more understanding of what others consider important. He was merely asking for a little help, a bit of guidance.
Just a thought. Hope you have a lovely evening.
Why do you care so much about deviant?
I'm sure he -and lets face it with his obsession with specifications deviant HAS to be a bloke!- is more than capable of taking care of himself!
It is typical of a certain type of poster on MSE to post a thread and then when they get replies that they don't like they either post another thread in the same area, delete their original post or post another thread on the same topic in another area!
In this case the bloke didn't like the any of the replies he got except the one that agreed with him. I still can't believe that someone did agree but it takes all sorts!
Occasionally another 'new poster' comes along to defend the original one! This is usually the first poster using another account either totally new or one they haven't used for a while. In this case the only person to agree with him is YOU! And you both joined in November. What a coincidence! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Most MSE-ers have very well developed senses of humour and irony. The people who can cope with that stick around and the ones who can't don't.
This guy and his list of missing items is hilarious. Why didn't he check his car before he drove it away? I've had 4 new cars and I've gone over each one very carefully before parting with any money although I was looking for paintwork damage/marks and upholstery stains/marks rather than what the seat pockets are made of!
If the small details were that important to him then he should have checked at the time.
Is he autistic? Sounds like it. Possibly undiagnosed - til now.

I probably still wouldn't notice........Had car two years and only noticed this week that the boot area doesn't have a light.
Hmmm what can I do, it goes back in two months........:rotfl:0 -
Fascinating thread, anyone found out what the make and model of this vehicle is.
With the all references to dampers I assume it may be the green one, not to be confused with the ToybotaThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

I expect he can take care of himself, I simply offered a suggestion of how he might seek redress, when he asked for some help. And latterly, sought to find the more accepting side of someone who in this situation at least, seemed able only of taking the mickey. It is typical of a certain type of poster on MSE to post a thread and then when they get replies that they don't like they either post another thread in the same area, delete their original post or post another thread on the same topic in another area!
He may well not have liked the unhelpful replies in his original thread or this one, but you would need to ask him.
As there had been little or no constructive suggestions in the replies, he later explained that he decided to ask again in a different section to see if that caught the interest of someone who could offer something constructive. Is that a crime? In this case the bloke didn't like the any of the replies he got except the one that agreed with him. I still can't believe that someone did agree but it takes all sorts!
Yes, it does take all sorts.Occasionally another 'new poster' comes along to defend the original one!
What a shame that anyone who simply asks for a bit of advice or a pointer in the right direction has to defend themselves against people who don’t think there concern is valid. I don’t think his intention was to gather opinion to establish if you think he was/is anally retentive or autistic. This is usually the first poster using another account either totally new or one they haven't used for a while. In this case the only person to agree with him is YOU! And you both joined in November. What a coincidence! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Have you always been this paranoid? Or is it just outside of your comfort zone (blanket?) to think that there could be people who have the capacity to see beyond what may in fact be minor to most people, but significant to others. Most MSE-ers have very well developed senses of humour and irony. The people who can cope with that stick around and the ones who can't don't.
Thank you for that insightThis guy and his list of missing items is hilarious.
What an interesting sense of humour you have. Why didn't he check his car before he drove it away?
Why don’t you ask him?I've had 4 new cars and I've gone over each one very carefully before parting with any money although I was looking for paintwork damage/marks and upholstery stains/marks rather than what the seat pockets are made of!
Sounds like he should ask you for the benefit of your thorough checking skills next time he buys a car.If the small details were that important to him then he should have checked at the time.
Hindsight, all time great word. Tell me, have you ever overlooked something, been distracted or taken for granted that what it says on the tin is what you will get inside the tin?Is he autistic? Sounds like it. Possibly undiagnosed - til now.
Is there something wrong or bad about people with autism in your world? What about people with other learning difficulties, do they not pass your minimum standard? How about people with physical disability or from a minority group? Or maybe, just maybe deviant is someone who possibly worked long and hard, saved the money over an extended period of time to buy their big special purchase, and feels short changed that he/she did not get what they were promised.
By the way, if you’re looking for more people to single out for some of your “special treatment”, there are lots of threads where you could amuse yourself for hours on here.
Have a nice day, and do keep an eye on that paranoia.0 -

It may not be a crime but is more than annoying when someone may spend time and effort researching an answer to a poster only to later find someone else has given the same answer elsewhere.
Posting the same question in different forums can be construed as spamming by some and is not generally acceptable on most internet forums.0 -

Have you read the original post? I suggest you do, and you will see little of a constructive nature, mainly jibes and certainly nothing whatsoever anyone has spent time researching.0 -

You are offended by the possibility of spamming - how about suggesting another forum member is or is maybe autistic? Does that not offend you? Is that less or more offensive? Do you know approaching 10% of the UK population is autistic?
I don't see you taking issue with takoda on the diatribe he/she “shared”. Or is that because some of us are newer than others? The forum itself describes itself as friendly, and the need to keep it friendly – tell me how describing someone as autistic is keeping it friendly and compare that to your concerns of spamming zzzzzzzzz

I am not interested in the original thread or this one particularly,
Therein lies the problem. May I suggest you would do well to find out the facts rather than cast judgement based on questionable views from someone who gets off on ridiculing someone else because they think the OP's concern is not warranted.0 -

So now you are putting words into my mouth, where did I say I was offended by spamming, read my post and you will see it says it 'can be construed as spamming by some' and where did I pass judgement on anyone, as previously posted I answered your question.
Don't you try and lecture me on autism, for your information I have a severely autistic granddaughter but I do not get offended when people point her out, in fact I care and love her very deeply.
You obviously like criticising others but do not like it when someone politely answers your question.
May I suggest you would do well to learn to read and not accuse me of things I have never done or said, now run along as I shall not waste my time and effort answering you again.0
