So you start another thread and don't even show appreciation to others who try and help in other thread

I have only picked up on the latter stages of this, but it seems to me that if you enquire about X, pay for X, you should get X. Not complicated really.

A missing boot light might be minor to some, but to others it’s the end of the world. That’s a matter of opinion and deviant is entitled to see it as a key factor if they wish to.

If it was me, I would write to the dealer principal and tell them in as few words as possible what is wrong (bullet points), highlight that you pointed out the issues at an early stage after taking delivery, but to date you have received no response. Then tell the DP what you want to resolve the matter. Be reasonable – requesting £500 compensation for a missing boot light could be seen as greedy but requesting they retrofit a boot light sounds reasonable. If you don’t get a response write again copying the original letter and setting a 7 day time limit for a response.

If you still get no response, write to the next level up (Area Manager if a big chain of garages or it could be the MD if a smaller organisation). IMPORTANT – keep it polite, clear and as short as possible AND copy in the DP. Appear as reasonable as possible to the AM, naturally pointing out that his/her DP has not responded to your previous two letters.

Keep escalating it higher up the command chain, copying in ALL the previous recipients every time. You will get your boot light eventually.

thanks DBZ thats the type of opinion I am looking for

    Ha Dvardys

Do you dispute after he posted his exact claim that he doesnt have a valid complaint?

2 minor items listed dont appear - a damper, and the fact that the pockets are now nets (probably still officially pockets)

The rest appeared on literature pics only

Terms will clearly allow for the 2 minor changes and the pics certainly wont tie him into the rest. Dealers regularly show better cars on pictures than the actual ones they are selling when its illustrations.

You mean you only want replies from people who agree with you? :rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You could just buy a headtorch - save a lot of time and effort :D

But hey it is your life. Go for it. Looking forward to your triumphant post when you share your delight at finally getting your boot light.

Some things aren't really worth worrying about though unless you are very @nal.

I think he just wanted to see if the guy would actually spend his time doing that. He obviously did though which speaks volumes ;)

Like you say they are MINOR changes. You got some money off it if I remember correctly from your other thread on this issue in Motoring so just be happy with your new car and stop worrying about these small issues. It is more important that the car is a good runner and reliable than what the behind the seat pockets are made of!

well the manufacturers discount is on all the range available to anyone and still available now, which manufacturers are not discounting at the moment? and how many new cars can not be haggled down further? I fail to see what the price I paid for the car has any relation to standard equipment that was stated. The thread on motoring was just unhelping I thought the adults would like to comment, especially when it comes consumer rights and legal issues that come with.

So the people in the Motoring section - many of whom are in the trade are NOT ADULTS????? Seriously!

however the damper and pockets are listed but not there. If I was told beforehand I would of been happy.

and implied from brochure and internet photos and know for a fact they were on all of last years revision for all versions of this model, boot light, chrome exhaust, rear storage covers. Again if I was told before I would of haggled the price down especially boot light with young children and all the junk that goes with it in the boot. The dealer knew I had driven the previous years model and wanted a car like it. I was informed that the roof bars were not on the car anymore and they had been replaced with better roof rails, but again I accepted as I was informed at the time and placed the order. yes they are minor changes but that coupled with the attitude and lack of action with the dealer and contradicting information from the manufacturer customer services saying damper should be on the car and the dealer can retro fit it, I want to know what laws come into play to put my foot down to get a quick resolution to the issues.

 it doesn't say the pockets are not made of net

Takoda, I’m very new to this forum. For sure there is a lot of advice and practical information/content shared, plus a bit of banter and light heartedness which is great. However, there also seems to be some who derive more satisfaction trying to ridicule others. You only have to read the other thread in motoring, to see that some of the more narrow minded members quickly seek to take it off topic.

Does it really matter if deviant considers important, what you consider minor? Is that not what makes everyone different? By posting something like this I guess he/she was leaving themselves open to the anally retentive accusation, but maybe there is room for us all to be a little more understanding of what others consider important. He was merely asking for a little help, a bit of guidance.

Just a thought. Hope you have a lovely evening.
