however the damper and pockets are listed but not there. If I was told beforehand I would of been happy.

    .....blah blah blah....

Well you're told now, so why aren't you happy?

I could understand frustration if it was say, a tape player instead of a CD player, no fog lights, etc etc. But some net pockets instead of some "proper" ones behind the driver seat? That must really hamper your driving experience.

It is so obvious that dbz and deviant are the same person. No one else is defending the OP never mind with such vigour! ;)

I expect he can take care of himself, I simply offered a suggestion of how he might seek redress, when he asked for some help. And latterly, sought to find the more accepting side of someone who in this situation at least, seemed able only of taking the mickey. Your give away mistake here was to get too involved. It was just soooooooo obvious that you were just an alias of deviant. Unfortunately some people on MSE do make themselves into figures of fun by posts which they consider totally reasonable. Just one of those things. Provides endless amusement for those of us who find such things funny.

He may well not have liked the unhelpful replies in his original thread or this one, but you would need to ask him. That was his first mistake. The good folk on Motoring have a lot of experience and know what they are talking about. If he had posted his complaints in the VENT section he might've got away with it as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek post. Unfortunately he's deadly serious about his rather insignificant complaints - hence the undiaganosed autism comment from me. That's the kind of thing they obsess about.

As there had been little or no constructive suggestions in the replies, he later explained that he decided to ask again in a different section to see if that caught the interest of someone who could offer something constructive. Is that a crime? On MSE - not exactly a crime - but does leave the poster open to criticism. As you can see.

Yes, it does take all sorts. Good job too.

What a shame that anyone who simply asks for a bit of advice or a pointer in the right direction has to defend themselves against people who don’t think there concern is valid. I don’t think his intention was to gather opinion to establish if you think he was/is anally retentive or autistic. I don't think he was really asking for advice. I think he just wanted people to agree with him but unfortunately no one does. (I'm afraid YOU don't count) No one in their right mind would advise someone to TRY to reject a car/or start a war with a dealer based on a missing boot light and seat pockets made of an unexpected material! Get real!

Have you always been this paranoid? Or is it just outside of your comfort zone (blanket?) to think that there could be people who have the capacity to see beyond what may in fact be minor to most people, but significant to others. Paranoid me?

Thank you for that insight You're very welcome. ;)

What an interesting sense of humour you have. Why thank you!

Why don’t you ask him? What for?

Sounds like he should ask you for the benefit of your thorough checking skills next time he buys a car. Well - hopefully he's picked up a lot of useful tips from his recent buying disaster (disaster only in his eyes I hasten to add) and hopefully wouldn't make the same mistakes again. Don't think we'll ever find out because if he did do the same thing again he'd be far too embarassed to post it on here! :D

Hindsight, all time great word. Tell me, have you ever overlooked something (Not when buying a car, no.) , been distracted (you mean EVER? At an important time? Yes, I spent five minutes watching a squirrel during my A level English Lit exam in the 1980's) or taken for granted that what it says on the tin is what you will get inside the tin? (Yes! Especially when buying biscuits!) I 've been trying to think of an answer to this one. There's more than one question there though so I've had a go at them individually.

Is there something wrong or bad about people with autism in your world? Can you show me where I implied that it was? What about people with other learning difficulties, do they not pass your minimum standard? How about people with physical disability or from a minority group? Or maybe, just maybe deviant is someone who possibly worked long and hard, saved the money over an extended period of time to buy their big special purchase, and feels short changed that he/she did not get what they were promised. Working hard and saving up for something doesn't mean he isn't autistic. Obsessing about something 99% of others consider to be insignificant may well do.

By the way, if you’re looking for more people to single out for some of your “special treatment”, there are lots of threads where you could amuse yourself for hours on here. No, a certain type of serendipity leads me to the ones which provide the most fun. I leave most of them to the other folk who also don't suffer fools gladly.

Have a nice day, and do keep an eye on that paranoia. What paranoia? Wasn't that an old Black Sabbath song? No, that was Paranoid. Will that do? I think I have it on tape somewhere in the loft.[/QUOTE]

    This is great!

Deviant/DBZ is obviously as insecure about having stuff posted about him on a thread as he is about the fact that his car has net pockets!

I just wish I had more time to play - unforunately I have a busy day ahead but will catch up with this at the earliest opportunity. Done and dusted!

Gotta love those posters who invent an alias to back themselves up because no one else cares!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
