Agree, the easiest £10 I will ever make :D

Just wish I could have found out about the reward accounts earlier (before Nov09 when they changed the t&c's) as I could have opened 3 in my own name so would have made £20 a month! :(

    Ah well, mustn't grumble!

Its been a while so thought it was about time I updated my progress! :)

Just deposited £450 as overpayment last week (on top of the monthly fixed OP of £385).

Next month we will be increasing our fixed monthly OP from £385 to £450.

Next milestone will be getting it under the £30k mark, which we should achieve around September.

Hope everyone else is on track with their MFW journeys :hello:

Company bonus came through, after tax was ~£440 so rounded up to £450 and put into the mortgage.

BoS monthly awards building up nicelly, £50 so far (going to let this build up over the year and add to mortgage in Dec)

    Cheers

Its been a while so thought I would update on progress.

No more overpayments above our normal OP direct debit so we are currently sitting at £31,369.

Next milestone is getting under the £30k mark which we should achieve just before we set off on our two week hols in September!! :)

    congrats_06-4069706382cbfe09f7a3a0faf33ccf2f.jpg what a fantastic milestone:T:T:T
  • What a great reduction. Thinking of all the interest that your bank won't get gives me a nice warm feeling inside......
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
  • Just the standard mortgage payment and fixed OP overpayment deposited during September so balance now sitting at £28,889.

    27 months to go :)

Quite a few Xmas presents bought already and looking to possibly get the rest bought during October. November will be an expensive month as have multi car insurance, road tax and an MOT :(

My work/shopping car has also developed a nasty rattle underneath (probably a heat shield loose) and has the occasional misfire under load so will need to get booked into the garage for a diagnosis, more money!!

Target is still to get my mortgage balance down into the £25k's by end of the year.
