Another major milestone reached, we are now in the TEENS!, £19,935 to be precise! :j
Since joining the Mortgage Free in Three (take 2) challenge in December 2009 we have dropped ~£20k from the mortgage and are half way towards our goal.
We can see the light at the end of the tunnel , £19k to clear in 19 months.5/10/12 : Mortgage Free0 -
We have just upped the fixed monthly overpayment on our mortgage by another £25 in line with our spreadsheet calculations to enable us to become mortgage free by December 2012.
This brings the fixed monthly overpayment up to £475 and the total monthly mortgage payment to £1040. Another £25 will be added to the fixed monthly overpayment in May 2012 to get us to the finish line.

Regular mortgage payment for July came off last week bringing us down to £17,855.
Mid point of the year and we have paid off £7,989 off the mortgage so far during 2011, this was made up of £3,955 in regular payments and £4,034 in overpayments.

Hi all,
Fixed overpayment came off at end of July and regular payment went out yesterday, so mortgage is now down to £16,815.

Hiya Jock,
Outstanding. Is December 2012 still the anticipated date of glory or will it come a bit earlier? I suppose it's all moot seeing as you're technically mortgage free anyway. Many congratulations on the pummeling of the mortgage anyway!
Cheers,

Hi Billy,
Looking at first week in November 2012 to become MF, we could finish earlier however my goal was to be MF before I was 40 (Jan 2013) which is well on track and seeing as we are on 0% there is no real financial benefit paying it off any earlier.
Been very busy at work and not had the chance to catch up on peoples diaries, looks like I have a couple of pages to read to catch up on your Vegas trip
Cheers,
