Well done on reaching this milestone. I have read all of your thread during the past year and you inspired me to overpay my mortgage. So thank you.

Mortgage payment for March has just came off which brings our balance down to £9,160
Planning on making an overpayment by the end of the week (once we raid our coin pots) to hopefully bring us into the 8's.

Just got a letter through from our mortgage lender RBS stating they will be increasing the interest rate on the mortgage!
No probs as we are 100% offset
Said on the letter that our minimum payment was now £95 so we would clear the mortgage in 8 years!
No thanks I'll stick with my 8 months plan :T5/10/12 : Mortgage Free0 -
Another £190 off the mortgage via an OP which consisted of £30 from BoS rewards, £102 from Ebay/parts sales and £58 spare, bringing us down to £8,970

The ISA season is upon us!
My 2 year FRISA with Halifax (3.5%) just matured so decided to reinvest in another Halifax fixed rate, however this time for 5 years at 4.5%
This might seem like a long time to lock away however rates are not likely to rise by much in the next few years so will provide a good return.
Also have another 2 year FRISA with Halifax (3.5%) maturing in April and looking to do the same but also add in the new allowance of £5640 which is sitting in savings waiting to go in.
The OH has a 2 year FRISA with Lloyds (3.6%) which will get another £5640 after April 6th.

:j How exciting :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
