Whoops! Just thanked a Spammer! Oh dear! I do like Mystery shopping though!

Anyway, thank you so much for your suggestions so far! I'll put my SOA on a new thread you can see what you think! I think it's only going to be December that might be tight, but DH should earn us £200 for taking his aunty to Heathrow on 17th, so that should come in very handy. He starts his part-time job mid-December, so he might get paid at the end of December, but it might not be until January.

Christmas present wise - we're using amazon vouchers, nectar points and we've sold a couple of things to raise the cash, plus we're doing homemade presents, so I hope costs will be kept low! It's petrol and food to think of!

However, foodwise, we do have quite a bit in at the moment, so we shouldn't need to shop for much, apart from bread, milk and salad vegetables and fruit over the next couple of weeks or so, maybe longer - I'll do a stock take later on I think!

I also did something at lunchtime which I don't know how good it is, or whether I've been not very DFW. It's given me a bit of peace of mind, but was it the best thing to do? I'm not sure. Anyway, done now!

Thanks again for all your help - You are all lovely! XX

  • Pooky, I did that Teddy thing for Mum on Sunday. I am tempted to do the same with my other email address with my avatar on  Such a good deal, I haven't been on there or ukhd today so will see whats on offer today :rotfl: :j

So own up who has given me a sore throat from you lot :rotfl: No way is it developing into a full blown cold though as I cant take time off work. Everyone waiting for parcels they have ben sent, appart from the craft one, ran out of brown paper. It will be in the post tomorrow though :j Secretly weigh in this morning and its looking good, fingers crossed for tomorrow. I have decided to bring my Momiji doll forward 10lbs because I am getting stuck in a rut and I am never going to get anywhere. My own fault really because the last two weeks prior to this one I have been messing. Still have three more to collect though so it will then be 100 and goal :j

Now off to comp and sort my budgets :T Have a great evening all

Sally & pap - hope you feel better soon.

phone call update: amex balance transferred to Halifax card! Now i need to sort out the barclaycard and transfer that to halifax.

QB - very curious about what you did at lunchtime... but if it brought peace of mind, then it's probably worth it!

  • Afternoon, where did the day go?

I had plans early on to blitz the dining room, but they came to nothing as I spotted the state the curtains were in and they went in the wash. Then I had to wash the window, so then realised that the paintwork needed doing, went to get spare curtains and found spare bedroom ones, so did those too.

Stupid stuff, because no one will notice except me. Am now having a cup of coffee and a posh biccie before going out to work - and was going to do Farmville, but can't get onto farm. It loads farmville page but not my farm, so now all my crops will die

Thank you all who nipped over to my thread and spotted where savings could be made!

What I did at lunchtime was go into Halifax (our joint account for utilities etc) and because of their new 'simple charges' policy from 6th Dec, there was the potential to be charged £31 per month for being overdrawn. There wasn't any chance of us being in credit, so we've upgraded to the Ultimate Reward account, which charges £12.50 per month, but gives us a £300 interest and fee free overdraft, plus other benefits. As I say, I don't think it's particularly DFW and in the past I scoffed at these sorts of accounts and I still don't know that it was the right thing to do, but the best thing for our circumstances at the moment.

Oh dear, I hope I've not done wrong by MSE!

    Afternoon lovely peoples x

QB - how much does that work out to a day? Set it as a challenge and couple it with a week or so of storecopbpard/freezer living and you could squeeze through...

I got my JSA assessment through today and I'm getting the full amount. TBH after the trouble folk on here have had with them I am surprised at how quick its been done (only started claim last Thurs!) and feel a bit guilty that it has gone so smoothly:o Sorry Bookie - hopefully my PM will help you get one of those jobs and then you can tell them where to stick their JSA:D

That means that the budget we did last night is actually slightly in surplus each month once we have reduced all possible payments. Am going to spend some time this evening looking for an okay PAYG deal to do through Quidco which will half my mobile costs. Will go back to contract when I get a job (unless I get a work phonein which case why bother) and earn more cashback:D. I seem to have got my debt-busting money managing mojo back:D
