PPI Claim Welcome Finance

Hi all

Having sent my initial letter to welcome about being mis-sold PPI on a total of 7 loans I have today received a questionaire from them relating to my current income etc etc, Has anyone else received this and is it necessary as I dont see how my current finances has any bearing on dealings i had with them in the past.

Thanks
Greg

    Hi Greg and Welcome,

These questionnaires now seem to be procedure, if you can although you have already sent the letters in you could actually answer the questions by writing something like (Please refer to my letter dated XX/XX/XXXX
Also, (I am aware you still hold my details from when you sold me the finance).
Write to the best of your knowledge or next to the questions as above.;)

They must still respond as from 8 weeks from when you complained.

Good luck, please keep us posted.

    Hi Greg

I got this form too. I can't remember what was said at the meeting I had when I took the loan out in 2004! They also have my wage slips from when I took the loan out so I used that information for the question on what my employment status was.

    Think its just delaying tactics.

    Good luck

I also received this questionnaire, it's just stalling tactics. I sent another letter back advising them of the first letter and a couple of extras. After my recorded response going missing after they signed for it, they refunded the lot.

I believe as well they use these questionnaires as stalling tactics, and it seems that recently everyone are receiving them on reclaiming.

I'm sending the form back in today. Will let you know what they do next.

Sounds like there are a few of us at the same stage with Welcome.
  • Hi,

I claimed back PPI from Welcome at the start of August and received this questionnaire back within a few weeks. Sent it back answering most questions as di3004 suggests (i.e. you have all the information you require).

Called them when the 8 weeks was up and they said that due to a massive backlog (everyone must be claiming this back!) they were running about 6 weeks late in resolving the cases. Decided to let them have the courtesy of 6 more weeks before getting the Ombudsman involved.

After about 5 weeks, got the offer for a full refund which I sent back immediately! The cheque should arrive anyday now.

I mention this just to warn those awaiting a decision that it may take longer than the 8 week timeframe, so call them the day the 8 weeks is up to get an update (if you haven't heard anything). And then decide from there which way to take it.

Thank you, johnderby. We need some hope like this after the bank charges fiasco!
  • Got a letter on Saturday saying that they were looking at my case and would get back to me and thanking me for my patience.
