Hubby and I opened these accounts last year and got the cashback:j. :jAlso if you have an account with them you get a preferential rate (8% fixed when we opened, but bound to have dropped significatly now) on a regular saver - we out £250 each per month. HTH

Hello Shaz! And anyone else who looks in on my little diary :)

    MFW news
: We've just gotten under the £67k barrier, mortgage o/s now
    £66,991.47 :j

freezer stocks are looking good, but I need to be organised and inventory and meal plan it all, will do that later.

I had my 28 week midwife appointment with blood tests yesterday... All ok, but currently Kester the fetus is in breech position. This could change, but a lot will depend on whether my back muscles are strong enough with 2 pregnancies so close together. It would be sad if it's a breech delivery as these have lots more complications and potential dangers than normal presenting babies :(. But hey! We'll get there!

Feeling a little disheartened after a conversation with my mum about money and my MFW goals. For DH posh teas like Lapsang have become a 'treat item' and my mum thinks that this is very sad for DH. I tried to explain that for us, no cuppa tastes as good as the lifestyle changes we'll be able to make once we are MF. But I don't think she got it, and she feels in her own words 'judgemental' about it.

Dear reader I know I am 35, and really oughtn't mind what mummy thinks any more, but I do!

    How's everyone else?

    xxx

  • I am 40 and still care what my mummy thinks.................and she still cares what hers thinks too and she's 62.:rotfl:

    Hope baby turns soon .......ouch!!

Know where you are coming from as my family don't get our lifestyle either not that we are really radical, just we don't like foreign holidays shop at ne)(t have a new build house etc my sister was mortified when she found out we dig about in skips for bits of wood and other treasures:rotfl:

She has been more receptive to homemade presents but she annoys me a bit in that i know any presents she buys me or the kids were bought last minute and without any thought. It was my 40th not long back and she said she wanted to buy me something i would use for a long time and really wanted i told her i wanted a sausage machine.............she bought me a spa day!!!!! which will be lovely but i know she booked it the day before . In her defence she has a v high powered career and works full time and has a 3 hr commute a day .

All my family take the mickey in a jokey way about our lifestyle but i just laugh it off...........each to their own

well done on the mortgage, just signed up to see ours online and ready for our 1st big OP on saturday

:rotfl::rotfl: that's so funny! I think people often give what they like rather than what the receiver likes.... but that takes the biscuit! :D

Will you lie there with a mudwrap on thinking of all the sausages you could've made?! xxx

We all mind what our mummies think - no matter how young or old we are. My parents don't even know we are on a MF quest, in fact other than people on here (and hubby of course!) I have only told one other person:o.
