You're making me feel tremendously guilty Weezl! You've managed to pay more off your mortgage in 2 years than is remaining on my 10 year mortgage! Hmmm... Action stations methinks
oopsnaughty guilt-making weezl! Off to have a nosey at your diary now

Aah no diary sadly, I didn't think my efforts at being mortgage free would be interesting enough for one, and since I'm well known for flitting between fads I tend to come and go with bouts of effort followed by bouts of forgetting about it so a diary would fall completely by the wayside. I'll just keep up to date with yours and make occasional uninteresting posts if that's alright
Been speaking to the OH about it though and he's keen to make a bit more effort (he's the Kings of procrastination though, we make a right pair!!) so we're aiming to pay off £2010 this year. Not much and some people overpay that every month but we're both on reasonably low wages and our mortgage is only £43k so it all helps.
Thanks for the motivation though, gonna spend the weekend having a finance overhaul to kick start the efforts.0 -
what a lovely surprise to find a weezl thread on MFW!
I was a big fan of your 50p challenge on the Old Style board so I'll enjoy catching up with this thread too.
all the best with the new baby tooweaving through the chaos...0 -
I have never tried approved foods either Weezl. Interesting note re 10% discount if join on facebook. I did have a wee thought, as you live in similar area to ISOM and maybe one or two others- you could bulk buy together and split the postage. That way storage wouldn't be a problem and you all get bargainous things.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
cunning plan bob and worth a thought - only problem is I have no storage!! Def worth a think though weezl-esp as there is another mser nearby who I'm sure would be interested!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

hiya phizzimum, good to see you again! How's things? xxx
MFW setback: Paying £133 for the materials to dryline two walls in our back room
MFW plus points: Applied for HiPG yesterday (£190 govt payment for all pregnant women after 25 weeks) and £100 due if the cashback from HSBC works out.
I have carrots and onions left over from christmas so I'm thinking of a liver and bacon slo-cooker batch cook, using the amazing bargain bacon from costco. (do you want in on that deal ISOM, there's loads! Going today so ping me a text if you do!) will post costings when I've seen how many batches I get

ps: am ordering some things to go into this flavoured couscous to make more of a meal of it....
capers, sundried toms, sweetcorn, pumpkin seeds, peas, kidney beans... any ideas anyone?
One lot is lemon and coriander flavour and the other lot is moroccan flavour I think...
edit: mediterrenean flavour sorry!

could you use the nut roast mix as a stuffing for chicken?? You could slice like meatloaf and serve with roasted or steamed veg and a little gravy.
I like approved foods and the similar 'food bargains'. with regards to best before dates and the kids I did a little research and could find no evidence that eating stuff after best before dates were harmful. The only thing is sometimes the flavours are not as strong as they once were. Alot on approved foods are dated final weeks in december 2009. if it was 2006 I would be a bit dubious but for a few months to around a year i am personally fine with it. In the summer I ordered 2 cases of ainsley harriot golden savoury rice with carrots and peas. We have about 3 packs left from 24 BBE march 2009 and they still taste great.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
