    Pigpen - you're evil :p

Kazw - silver plate... kind of depends on how tarnished it is, but you don't want to wear the plate off. I'd use a straightforward polish like silvo as pigpen says - start with a little and see how it goes. Elbow grease does most of the work. Then wash it thoroughly to get rid of the residue. Don't put it in the dishwasher - you need to wash with mild detergent (washing up liquid) and dry with a soft cloth. DW is too harsh for it. If you aren't using every day, store it in acid-free tissue paper to try to minimise further tarnishing.

To confirm that it IS plate, it should say 'epns' on it. Anything that has a hallmark and doesn't say that may well be silver. If you photograph the hallmarks I should be able to tell you (if I can find my books!)

Have fun :D I HATE cleaning silver... I remember having to do it as a child.

Parcel posted. Colleague called as I got back, so its a good thing I didn't go to the dry cleaner! OK... lots to do (work sadly...) preparation for calls, rework of article just discussed with colleague, and review notes from my mentor on another article. I think I need to find a cup of tea first...

    Morning all

    Today's list done

I've also dusted in the living room and vacuumed the living room, hallway and kitchen.

Not enough washing for a load today, it's raining on an off anyway - off course.

    Hope everyone's OK.

Hope you are all OK today. Horrible here today again. So far I've decluttered the kids to school (while wondering how Lil-me's DS1 is getting on this morning) and topped up my caffine and nicotine levels while working out how much money I have to spend after paying the bills:o. Huge list for me today and I need to pay ebay stuff too before I forget.

    Morning all

Kids on LRD today been for my appointments. Both doing great. Poor DS1's tutor raised a Maths issue with me (from the maths department to be raised with all parents) about the class being below their targets so I countered that with the fact that maybe if they had not been watching a Top Gear DVD last week in a lesson they would be nearer to where they should be! He was shocked to say the least and rather put off track! Well that's the rest of his day sorted. He is great and I wasn't rude at all but sometimes you've got to stick up for your kids, I often side with the teacher so DS1 came out grinning from ear to ear saying 'His face was a picture'.

I need to go to the chiro in 15 minutes so will just do a list, tidy the kitchen and be back later.
