Plumber now gone and fire on, it's so cold. DD is dosed and so am i now, still sitting with my coat on.

He'll be back saturday morning to sort the leak and rad as well as put in a new hot water tank so hot press need emptied. At least half the heating will be sorted, need to get rest changed after christmas.

Right thats me for tonight, see you all tomorrow.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Lol, a few weeks ago, when he was so ill, I'd have loved to have problems like this! I guess life is back to normal!!!:rotfl:

I always remember how awful it is when they are too ill to do anything when they are being as naughty as possible and be thankful for their health.. it is a stark reminder

    Second rant of the day!!!!

Why are tiscali so incompetent? We changed provider because tiscali couldn't fix a problem with our phone line. We owe them £4. I don't dispute this - I'M TRYING TO PAY IT!!!!! They keep phoning but won't speak to me because I'm not the account holder. I've offered to pay the £4 but no, that won't do. I've tried to do it online but the screen keeps going white. To top it all - I got a letter today threatening to cut us off! What a joke....they couldn't connect us when we were with them. They can't cut us off we're not with them.

    Phew.....feel better now!:D

Can you not just post them a cheque with the account number on?

list will be up in a sec...

    Evening all,

I haven't done any flying since my last post as we went car shopping for me after the school run. I think i've chosen and i'm going to test drive it tomorrow morning. It's nice and i would be able to have it tomorrow ( OH goes back to work Monday and will be needing his car ) and it's cheapish but i'm not sure i really want it if that makes sense. I'm not going to decide until i've driven it, hopefully i'll know what to do then.

I'm going to jump in the bath now Ds1 has eventually got out. :rolleyes:The amount he was running the hot tap it should be nice and warm.

Just heard what I think might be a loud crash from outside... something must have blown over...
    kazmeister wrote: »
I did wonder, my only confusion is that room is aired really well as you have to walk through it from the front door to the litchen so the air never gates stale, the door to the hallway is always propped open and the area of damp is under the window which is invariably open . Having said that I have just looked and there is an air brick outside that is level with the ground, presumably the previous occupants had the concrete laid higher. Could be waters getting in. Would this cause it?.
Could well be - my patio is slabs laid on the original concrete patio, so it's level with the damp course - which is why it's all going to be dug up in the next few weeks and relaid - there should be two courses of bricks below the damp course apparently.
    (sneaks in)

Greenbee - I'm not missing - just had in no particular order, a confirmation, two out of three folks ill, run up to school fayre, surprise 90th party, two long trips for a family thing, various meetings and a horrid time at work in just over a week. Will email you tomorrow but this week is I think out, can barely breathe, next week?
Next week sounds good... I'm on leave on Monday but I'm sure we can fit something in on one of the other days.

    You lot really can talk...

... no flying done, as I got home after a nice meal out and had PAGES of your inane chatter about pegs to work through :p I've forgotten most of what I wanted to say

Might go and have a bath in a minute to warm up before bed.

AnW'sMum squishy hugs - bet you are still knackered after our exploits last week!!! WTG with the steps - I managed another 3774 today - getting more tired each day but the BR is coming on brilliantly - now have new door, coving, and new skirtings - lots of filling done and the plumber has been and removed the radiators - the 'boys' were asking after you and were in good form with the painter today!!

Awwww shucks :o tell them any time they want to head south they are welcome, I'm sure I could find some jobs for them! Sounds like they have made great progress, I shan't recognise the place next time I am up.

Well done on the steps :T final total for me today is 11208, hope you can get some more rest tomorrow.

Mmmmm well I have decluttered some TV progs from the HDD does that count as flying????

Thought not, I shall away to bed and try again tomorrow, hugs to on and all.

Lemanie - big hugs love, hope they sort you out soon

And Greenbee - we have "things going crash" winds here tonight too!

I have eaten dinner, washed up and made some bread and am now off to bed....
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
  • It's blowing up a gale out there tonight! Really windy!

Since my last post, I've done general tidying and decluttering, chucking and flinging! And have emptied my piggy bank and counted up all the pennies, 2p's and 5p's.

What would you do: sold an ikea picture on ebay last week - carefully packaged it in bubble wrap, cardboard and outer wrapping so that it would arrive safely. Buyer has just contacted me to say the glass is completely smashed, but they don't say what they want me to do, their message is one sentence long: I received the picture but the glass is smashed. I've replied, apologised, explained it must have happened in the post and I'd wrapped it carefully, and asked what they want me to do.
I don't really want to refund them, as it's not my fault, but not really sure what to do next. What would you do?

I agree! Even have to change it at other people's houses if it's the wrong way round - altho I try to resist if I am their only visitor as then they will know it was me! If a large group of people, I know I'm safe

Rosepink - take it easy hun
:D Official permission to take it easy! I like it! What a nightmare you had about the school trip, why don't they notify people?

    Hugs Jo and AnW’s mum

TC, how frustrating about the hospital appointment

Jinky how did you reclaim the burger van? Has it been found then?

Mudders glad things are getting back to normal with DS. I know exactly what you mean about Tiscali, have had problems myself, they just don’t seem to comprehend common sense or indeed English.

Helen hope you and your mum are feeling better soon

Frodder, 12 staff off! How many do you have in total? Must have been a terribly busy day!

Congratulations to Valli’s DD on her cross country achievements

    Hugs Carlsberggal

Hugs Lemanie hope you are better soon and they can find out what’s wrong, sounds terrible

Going to bed soon - got to go out tomorrow to post office and to fax paypal which involves going to the copier shop in Guildford. Will be flying around that and phoning my Mum. Had a text from her earlier, phoned back and spoke to Dad for ages which was nice, don't get to talk to him much, but must remember to phone Mum tomorrow. My poor Dad is so tired and stressed at the mo, his job is really putting on him and when he's not in the office, he's on call so gets calls all weekend and in the night from people wanting him to fix their computer problems, and it's all a bit of nightmare for him at the mo. Hopefully will calm down soon.
