What would you do: sold an ikea picture on ebay last week - carefully packaged it in bubble wrap, cardboard and outer wrapping so that it would arrive safely. Buyer has just contacted me to say the glass is completely smashed, but they don't say what they want me to do, their message is one sentence long: I received the picture but the glass is smashed. I've replied, apologised, explained it must have happened in the post and I'd wrapped it carefully, and asked what they want me to do.
I don't really want to refund them, as it's not my fault, but not really sure what to do next. What would you do?.

    Hi Rosepink
Just wondering if you got a Certificate of Posting when you sent it? If so, you can claim against Royal Mail up to the value of (I think) £32. Might be worth checking their website (Royalmail.com). Even if it doesn't cover how much the buyer paid, you can at least refund some of the cost.

I don't like it when people tell you things - 'it's arrived broken' - then expect you to do all the running! We sold a wireless TV transmitter on eBay once, which they buyer claimed didn't work (it did)...when we eventually got it back, the box was battered and had been written on (obviously the buyer was a re-seller), so we could no longer sell as brand new. I think we gave it to the charity shop in then end.

Hope you manage to sort it out.

Quieter weatherwise this morning thank goodness.

I have a long day today - have work meetings until 4 and then I'm out at a community meeting tonight so I might not be one much today - hugs to everyone who needs them.

    And welcome :D
Given the time you posted I see what you mean about lack of sense :p

Hope no one was blown away last night. I woke up at 2am thinking it must be morning as I was so wide awake... and spent what felt like hours listening to wind and rain that sounded like someone throwing gravel at the windows. It's all nice and calm out there now, with what looks like a cloudless sky (I didn't have the heating on last night, and put the dehumidifier in the utility room, so there's rather a lot of condensation ). However, I'm shattered... too tired to bother with breakfast.

Suppose I'd better get myself washed and dressed so I can head of to work soon though...

    Morning lovelies!

    Lil_me good bargain :T

    (((((((((((hugsallround)))))))))) just cos :p

    Welcome new people :hello:

It's blowing a gale  I'm frightened to look to see what's blowing around in the back garden, been out to the shop first thing and it wasn't that windy then.

2nd job has cancelled again as she's still having her extension built and it isn't viable for me to go, I'm glad but it's a big chunk of money I wont get again this week, I've decided to rein in the xmas spending it's gotten ridiculous and I'm putting so much pressure on myself for no reason so I've deleted some things off the list, they've all got plenty anyhoo. I also need to have a serious sort out of my finances I'm not in control of it anymore.

So, got a 3 hr gap between two jobs today so hopefully will do the master bedroom, all the tidying/sort bits of the list are done as I keep on top of it so mainly the bedding a clean and a hoover.
