Lots of work half done  but at least if it's started then I should be able to get it finished. I just need some time to actually sit down and write, but I've got my notes in place. I also need to talk to my mentor about the templates I'm using.
Just had an email from the landscaping people, and it looks as if they'll be pulling down the garage on either thursday (I'm working from home  and can't change it as I have a middle of the day appointment!) or Friday. It will take two days, so hopefully they'll be here on Thursday rather than carrying over into the weekend (although as I'm not here on Saturday I'm not sure it matters). As its asbestos that they're dealing with I'd hoped to arrange to be away. I'll just have to make sure all the doors and windows are closed.
OMG! Just seen the time. Better get my hot water bottle made and head of to bed.
Oh yes... and has anyone seen MOAM? I've got some stuff for her at work, but she seems to have gone AWOL - if you're around, I've replied on FB and emailed you at work too
fedup - remind me to pack up and post your parcel on Thursday0 -
Rant alert.
ARGH I am SO cross and upset :mad::mad:
We're updating our wills to add guardians for the children. If we are gone and MIL is no longer here we've asked my brother and sister in law to be guardians. Its a big decision, they live in NI (we are in England) and they have no children. But there is noone else.
I've just had to write a letter to them to go in our wills saying where we'd like them to live, how we would lke them to be brought up etc.
Meanshile last week my brother asked me what he should get the children for Christmas. He never actually goes to the shops to browse or look or buy things and I always have to send him links to things off amazon.
In the middle of this horrible enough letter I get an email from my brother refusing to get the things I suggested off amazon just because they dont all have free postage and could I please look again this time being more careful to ensure postage is free.
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
He is not short of money, his last car was a BMW Z3and he has upgraded to something more fancy. They go on flash holidays and have a tiny mortgage. He is a mean mean man. I feel so let down by him, I am asking him to potentially be guardian of my children and he is too stingy to even pay to post their Christmas present.. What a tight git.

I'd suggest he transfers some money to your account and you can buy them each a gift and put a tag on from him.. they get what they need and you can be all MSE about it and get them something far better than Amazon allows.. Just because they are family doesn't mean they are the best people to have guardianhip of the children, sometimes a friend who is more like you is a better option.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

I know I know its just I am already doing that for my Mum and for MIL and I am losing the plot plus the house is like a branch of Toysrus (am sure you will sympathise LOL). Will definitely not be helping him again though and will do exactly what you said.
On the guardianship thing its so hard. I cant think of anyone else. MIL is down first so providing she is still around .... she is 58 so plenty young.
Sorry I know my previous post sounds really greedy, its his meanness of spirit that annoys me more than enything, he just isnt interested in the children at all, didnt even come over for the little one's Christening. I know they arent his and not everyone is into children but they are family, and as he is my only brother and DH is an only child , he is their only uncle, argh I am off ranting again sorry.Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

this is not a competition - there is no prize except feeling good that you are starting a new year with an empty basket - try to encourage each other - we all want to succeed
dont wait until the week (or day:eek:) before to get started - try to do a little bit as often as you can.
toots xx
Toots I will NOT be ironing but I'll do an empty washing basket *wonders off thinking about what she's getting in to*
For real this timeSleep well see you all in the morning.
I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
I fully understand that Jill, I have an uncle as tight as a nuns girdle.. he earns a not so small fortune when he is working, has thousands in the bank and would not give you a penny if you were starving unless he stood to gain from it. He isn't a horrible person but is so very mean. When I think of the opportunities I could offer my children given the finances he has, and the options that would be open for us, it all seems a bit unfair. I just consider the htings I have in my life which make me rich; my children, the love I have for them and them for me, my family and few friends that mean a great deal to me. the laughter and enjoyment just from being alive.. money cannot buy you that and material possessions cannot bring it, we earn that in the way we live our lives.. so yes, I fully understand what you are saying.. BUT .. as you will live to be a grand ripe old geriatric age it is all superfluous.
ETA.. reminds me of the ancient Chas and Dave song.. mustn't grumble...
I had an old uncle as mean as can be
he said when I die you'll get nothing from me
mustn't grumble... mustn't grumble
All he left me was an old overcoat but I found in the pocket a £50 note..
mustn't grumble.. mustn't grumble!!
and the rest of the song is pretty amusing and apt...
*giggles* You can now possibly work out my anciently old self lol..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
