As the weather is so dreadful here - it has rained ALL day - have been having a catchup.
ensuite cleaned bath shower sink toilet & surfaces, emptied bin, dusted & dewebed, mirror polished.
spare room bedding & DS bedding washed & new now nearly all back on - DH has just got to fight the duvets into the covers.
DS says he has done his bedroom but I think all that has happened is he has flicked the dust off the window sill - certainly no tidying done.
DS & I have made a start on tidying out the boxroom which is a mammoth job - we found a box full of bits that we obviously just dumped in there when we moved in years ago.hopefully if we do a bit each week it will be sorted by Christmas
haven't been managing to keep up with the thread so hope everyone is OK

mudbath since when did you need any encouragement:rotfl::rotfl: whats elf's name? possible activities :-making reindeer food, making paper chains, dusting, dewebbing, cleaning up dog poo, cleaning the family silver for christmas dinner, wine sampling, tree light testing (finger in socket job of course!) chucking buckets of water at the carol singers, making a snowman - any of these helpful????

Shhhh...not everyone on here knows I'm a multi millionaires with 17 mansions and tonnes of silver :rotfl:. Love some of your ideas though...especially paper chains, reindeer food and snowman making if the white stuff obliges (plenty of the brown stuff to use instead) :rotfl:. Can you tell I'm trying to make up for not really doing last Christmas!

Nopot - thanks for the HHC. I've just done a major clean up in my clinic (the windowledge needed a major revamp!). It looks good in there now.

I've had a call from DH to say traffic and weather is awful so they'll be back at about 630pm. The house has nothing out of place though that will soon change. It looks very nice but I can't wait for it to looked lived in again. This weeks lists should be easy (ish) because I've totally decluttered ready for a major clean ready for the decorations going up whilst I'm away next week....did I tell you i'm going away as a pre-birthday treat with a very old friend. Three days, two nights...and they're school nights too! :rotfl:xx

I have been to the new Mr T and to Mr M and to Mr S and can't get hold of bero flour.
I really don't want to have to go to Mr A for it!!
All the washing is done and now drying on the clothes horse. (no dryer or radiators)
We had pork steak chips onion rings and peas for lunch which was lovely i glazed the pork in honey garlic. So tender.
I am running down the cupboards and freezer so tomorrow having potato wedges and some pasta thing with chicken and bacon. Will have a dig for some garlic bread i am sure there is some in there somewhere.

We usually go to my mil's for christmas dinner but this year we are staying at home and having my mother over. Why does christmas always cause trouble?? My mum usually goes to my sisters but always feels like she is in the way. It's not the first time i have asked her to come here for xmas and she has said yes then to let me down and go to my sisters instead.
When my mum comes here she can just sit watch the tv play with ds and be waited on hand and foot but when she goes there she ends up nearly cooking the dinner for them.
I wanted to stay at home so i can have what i want on my plate with no-one asking is that all your having and not feeling pressurised into eating more than i want or need to. I will cook the dinner for us all. Today dh moaned that it was not fair to not ask his mum to come for dinner but i know for a fact that she would not come as she has the dinner to cook for the rest of the family and can't not do it !!!.
Sorry for moaning i am as ever stuck in the middle pleasing other people i have a few choices.
1 carry on as i am and have dinner at home and see if mum comes
2 decide to go to MIL's to please dh
3 Let DH go to his mums and i stay here which is sounding like the best option then i can really please myself.

At times like this i wish my dad was still here and to be fair i think this is just really what this garbled post is really all about.

Now i have realised that i will dry my eyes and get on with it thanks for listening xx
