charges for 07744 simply-fone/merged

Thank you Blinker, but I use my TMobile calling a mobile number. Simply-fone has replied advising me that mobile numbers I've been dialling are available only peak time and only the land line is off peak. I thought Gambia was listed under the 24 hours - 7 days. It's a very good idea and look forward to using it.

yep. i made similar mistake.
most countries are available at any time day or night but You have to make sure of that.
if its not available it just cuts out which is a good thing cos it saves your inclusive minutes

After using this service for two months without any problems on Orange, today I was told that it is a premium service so does that mean its the end of free calls from our mobiles?

I hope not Raz....I've got used to using it and would hate a shock in my next bill! I've been using it for about the same time too, with no charges to the 07744 number appearing on my monthly bill. I'm with BT mobile.

If like me you are an Orange customer then calls to 07744 974 363, 07744 97 3333 & 07744 974 333 are all charged at premium rate.

BTW, in my communication with Simply fone I received the following:


Simply-fone provides the service which is available from all mobile networks, however the charging policy for these calls is a matter for the network operator, the service provider and the caller.

The network operators have the discretion to set the policy for charging for any calls and these policies vary by network operator, service provider and sometimes by tariff plan.

In addition the network operators vary their charging policies from time to time. It is neither possible nor appropriate for Simply-fone to advise callers on the charging policy of the mobile operators.

every time i dial 7944-- i get message that it will be charged premium rate on orange. on my bt it is ok.my vodafone gets refunded after emailing them.

hi i have had the same problem too!! luckily i did nt get charged but got the message of the premium rate numba! i ve luked everywhere to find a similar numba to call abroad but have had no joy!! does any1 know of any other numbers where an account is not needed to set up and use thanks:(*
