charges for 07744 simply-fone/merged

It had been wide discussed here 3 charged 07744974333, the simply-fone.
I received my voda bill today, they charged me for calling the number >:(
at least 30p per min!!!!
Anyone has any experience on other networks?

I am with Orange and have OVP Voda 200 anytime and didn't got charged last month

I received my voda bill today, they charged me for calling the number >:(

I received charge also... BUT i complained from my phone to 191 -- & i immediately received a credit in full .. I asked for an actual credit note & i received this by post within 48 hours.
My lady friend also got charged 2 months [till she noticed] & pays by d/d.. she didnt receive actual cr note but also DID GET instant CREDIT in full of £62 by vodafone operator...
when she checked bank debit details this was done.
Operator told her sh'd put note on a/c to say not to charge for 07744 numbers but added that IF she was charged again... just to call 191 accounts & shed get credit everytime!something missing0 -
I am vodafone customer and I got charged for all my calls to this number.The Voda customer service are saying they cannot credit this money as this number doesn't come under their x-net minutes list of numbers.
They are asking me to write to their complaints dept which goes to a PO Box...
Can someone help in getting my money back ?0 -
I am also with vodafone, I checked my bill online and noticed that they had charged, when I phoned 191 (and this is where the fun starts) to query the online bill, at first I was told to my amazement that the online system is not a true representation of the final bill I would recieve and that they could not do anything until i received my bill.
I phoned a couple of hours later and talked to a different person who thought that it was a glitch in the system and that I should phone back when I receive my bill for credit. Bottom line is I think that the poor individuals at vodafone just dont know and its best to keep phoning them hoping to get a different person on the other end until you resolve.
BTW I will keep phoning them until the online billing removes the charging, as I dont want to waste my time and effort afterwards trying to get back money from vodafone0 -
I have just checked with Orange they are charging 25 p per minute peak time and 10p a minute on weekends, and 18866 is also charging 25p per minute0

I've got my latest bill & not been charged at all.
Are u sure u have not gone over your free minute allowance? or are u on an Orange plan that doesn't permit CROSS-network minutes etc...

i've not been billed by orange yet for calling the access number. did u phone the customer service and ask about the call charges? it has been mentioned before that customer service tell you that there is a charge for using the number, but there still hasn't been any charges to my knowledge. one thing i have noticed on my bills is that orange usually state if the numebr called is an orange or other network number, but the simply-fone number is just blank. maybe they are starting to get their act together and will start charging us in the future (just something to think about)0

Any tips on how to get this refund from Vodafone? I've just discovered I'm being charged too, when I called 191 they just told me that it's because it's not a UK based provider. They didn't mention anything about refunding me the charges. Guess I should have checked this thread before trying it for myself! :mad:0
