I'm obviously not creative enough, the choc sauce I would throw away. The tinned salmon I'd use for sandwiches or OH would have it on crackers. The stewing steak, I'd have with potatoes and veg. :rotfl:

Rather embarrassing...could someone point me in the direction of a pie recipe as I have never made one and don't know where to start. I would love the suet idea but DH hates them.

Linda32 Only due to my lack of basic culinary skills had I ignored the pie idea, I was going down the pots and veg route too!

I would buy some ready made pastry and roll it out(or buy pre rolled) line a pie dish and add the tinned steak on top the pastry, cut out a pastry lid. Brush egg wash round the edges of the pastry sides, top with lid and press edges of lid down with a fork. Cut two holes in the top of the lid, then cover with egg wash and stick in a hot oven :) I'd cook it at about 180 degrees.

Soak them overnight with some bicarb of soda. Drain and rinse the peas, chuck them in the slow cooker with a gammon corner, water, chopped carrots and onions. Cook on low all day, shred up the ham, add some extra water if needed and season.

    Pea and ham soup :)

I sometimes use dried peas to make pea and ham soup, also you can sprout them to use in a salad or stirfry, Just soak them
and rinse with cold water everyday they will sprout and make shoots,

I have some tins of this too, I found it very salty but use it up to make cheese sauce. or in a quiche.

What can I do with tinned salmon?

Many years ago (so I don't have the recipe) I went to a friends for lunch. We had spaghetti with salmon and it was delicious. I remember she said she used cream in the sauce.

It might have been as simple as tossing the cooked spaghetti in cream and the flaked tinned salmon. Maybe add some chopped dill if you have any. Or lemon zest and pepper would also go well.
