Thanks. I really want to do a shop there but will have to get through the next 4 days with what I have here as dh working til Wed now so I won't have car to get there til Thurs and today everywhere is shut. When I'm off to the walk-in centre to get my leg looked at, will pop to the Asian supermarket and pick up some spuds. That should help with a few more meals.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Norn Iron recipe that everyone makes for every church 'do', people over for tea etc. Which is never a cup of tea in your hand, btw. Perish the thought!!
Fifteens:
15 digestives bashed up into crumbs
15 marshmallows cut up with scissors (pink and white ones usually but I had flumps and cut about 5 of them up.)
15 glace cherries
15 walnuts ( optional... not used very often as they are expensive)
Condensed milk (HM easy..... 1 cup milk powder, 2/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup boiling water, 3 tbsp marg. All in bowl and whisk for 3 mins)
Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and add enough condensed milk til you get a nice big sticky ( but not wet) lump.
Sprinkle some coconut on a bit of tinfoil and make the mix into a sausage shape on top. Big and fat, or skinny depending on if you want lots of wee ones, or fewer big slices. Roll up in the tin foil and chill in the fridge til firm.
Cut into slices, share with friends.
Enjoy.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I ended up using up my last few pounds yesterday ( apart from enough to buy milk later in the week). Went to an Asian supermarket and bought a bag of spuds, large tin of corned beef, 3 tins of chick peas ( can use for falafels and chick pea curry), cucumber, bananas and apples. All for 6 quid. So that will give me a few more options so we should be ok til the end of the week. Mind you, they will all be drinking water as kids and dh have finished all the juice that was to do for the whole week!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

What about breakfast cereals? Porridge is very good value and will keep you going through the morning.
Soups are good. You could cook the gammon and save the water for stock to make soup with. Add any bits of veg you have lying around and also some dried pulse soup mix. It costs about 69p at the supermarket and is very filling.
The gammon can then be used for a meal with potatoes and veg.
Left over gammon can be added to pasta or a rice dish with stir fry veg. You don't need very much gammon in either of these. Just chop up small.
With some of the fish you could make fish pie topped with mashed potatoes. Make a White sauce, add some fried/sweated onion and some herbs. Mix in flaked fish and top with mash potato. A mix of normal and sweet would be nice. Serve with peas.
I don't know if rabbit and venison go together so can't advise there.
You could make a chicken and bacon pie. Home made wedges, cut potatoes into wedge shape, no need to peel. Par boil for five minutes and then drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt if desired.
Cook in the oven shuffling round every ten or so minutes to stop from sticking. Should take about forty minutes on 180 degrees.
I can't think as it's getting on for two in the morning but hope you get more help tomorrow. There are some very good people on here who can instantly see meals when they look at a list.Second purse £101/100

Yes, but op,Lindsey, doesn't just want meat and potato meals. Also, for some it is hard to get organised when they haven't been used to running to the shops to get extra ingredients on a regular basis. She has asked for help so let's try and help. I have always found this board to be very supportive.Second purse £101/100
