    OK

In the fridge I have one leek left, a bag of carrots and a head of brocolli... Too tired to think straight and wondered what you lovely OSers would make with these...

I have lots of usual storecupboard stuff plus onions, a sweet potato, frozen peas and green beans and chicken in freezer which i could take out if I need to.

I am planning a cooking day on Sunday to fill up the freezer so would welcome your suggestions :)

    Thanks :A

    Yay!
Glad to see its not just me with a mountain to demolish, that sounds like a lot of good healthy meals in that lot!
I didnt make much of a dent in my mountain, after a really hard emotional day (i'm still sat here crying) i opted for roastie tatas an veg from the freezer with gravy. i think i managed about 3 mouthfuls.

Off topic here, but do u ever wish u had some truly amazing friends who would understand anything u say without getting angry? if so - where can i buy them? lol - spend all my grocery money on one right now :P

    SS x

Sorry to hear you have had a tough day. :grouphug: Here is a dodgy hug to make you feel better:D I am coming down with a cold and DH has rushed in and rushed out again so we have both had sausage sandwiches which hasn't cleared much out of our stocks either.

I am off for a lemsip and an early night as the baby will no doubt have me up at 3am:eek:

Risotto! Great for using up odd bits & bobs, and usually tastes delish.

I hope you don't mind if I join you ? I am a long time lurker / occasional poster on the grocery challenge - typically I attempt the challenge every month but fail miserably !

I was going to have a home delivery shop today but canceled it when the shopping basket reached £130 odd pounds plus delivery ?! I already have two very full freezers and my cupboards are full so I think I will be right at home here ! Ive decided that I want to try to spend the last two months of the year using up what Ive got ! I hope later on today to meal plan so will be back later with the details.

In the meantime, I found some steak in the freezer which is defrosting for my curry tonight (I didn't realise I had any and had this to be delivered!). I do need a short trip to the supermarket to buy milk, potatoes and eggs but hope to meal plan first and then buy just what I need....

I've just subscribed to this thread - the freezer and store cupboards are groaning, I haven't got time to list everything but I'm going to keep reading on here to inspire me to eat what we've got instead of going shopping! Started last night with Enchiladas followed by cake, all made from freezer/store cupboard ingredients. Totally blew my GC budget this month :(

Got this terrible itching to go to Lidl though - need someone to lock me in the house please!!! x
Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon ....

I'd like to join in please?!

I've just had my first month of budgetting our weekly spending / grocery money, and have been living on £125 per week. However, we were on holiday last week, and had to buy some bits and pieces (like a hairdryer, as I forgot to take one - but my old one was on its last legs..!) and had to use this coming week's budget to pay for it.

So that means I have the sum total of £40 to last until Friday, which has to include lunches and evening meals for OH and I (luckily DD is away all week!)

I'm going to have a look in the freezer to see what I've got, and luckily, having spent our week away virtually vegetarian to support our newly veggie DD, I can get away with not serving meat every night, but I do need some inspiration!

Will report back with what I've got later...!

    Update
Have planned my evening meals for the next week. Here it is :D

Sat 23 : Beef rogan josh
    Sun 24 : Out
Mon 25 : Beef rogan josh
Tue 26: m&s potato and veg mix with quorn
    Wed 27: Pasta
Thus 28: Lamb kebabs with cous cous
Fri 29: Jacket chips, ham and fried eggs
Sat 30: m&s burgers, jacket chips
    Sun 31: casserole
Mon 1 nov :Jacket chips, ham and fried eggs

Here are my lunches which I have so far planned:

    Today : jacket chips
    Sun 24: Out
Mon 25: UFO meal from freezer!
Tue 26: Chick pea dahl and bread
Wed 27: UFO meal from freezer !
    Thur 28: pasta
    Friday 29 : Pub

I might buy some mushrooms to go with my pasta and some cherry tomatoes. The lamb kebabs and the burgers were meant for a bbq in the summer that never happened - Im meant to be following Slimming World and they are no doubt many syns but I can't bring myself to throw them away or give away particularly as they were bought with vouchers I got from M&$ for a faulty product. The m&s potato veg thing, im sure is out of date but it will no doubt be fine. I might also need to buy some fresh veg for the casserole for next weekend unless I can find stuff lurking in my freezer.... otherwise I have everything i need
